Just wanted to give you guys a heads up and see what your opinions were. Going to be gusts reaching up to 50mph along with heavy rain during the game. Even with two terrible defenses, I still think Under 73 is the play here. Thoughts? |

Gonna give you my thoughts as a UofL fan. I am personally not betting the game due to obvious bias reasons, just thought I could give you some insight.
For starters,I don't think Louisville is being judged very fairly after our first 2 games. Louisville turned the ball over twice on the 1yd line against Purdue in what should've been a 21+ point victory where Louisville outgained Purdue by 200+ yds. Throw in 11 false start penalties (10 on our freshman center alone) and you're not going to blow out many teams. Vs UNC - Got off to a pretty slow start to this game, gave up a big special teams TD but it seemed in the 4th quarter, that we were just in better shape physically as we wore them down. Lamar Jackson was able to put up 500+ yards but no one mentions our dominant run game in the 2nd half from under center. Malik Williams rushed for 149 yards on just 13 carries. Defense has been a big question mark since Jaire Alexander went down in the opening game against Purdue. Breaking in new OC Peter Sirmon and it has been a bit of a rough start. Jaire Alexander being on the field is crucial in this game to help out our young secondary. As for Clemson, their defense definitely passed the eye test vs Auburn. They looked fast, strong and absolutely flew to the ball. But I am with others who question the offense of Gus Malzahn and Auburn. Something about them just didn't look good at all that game and they seemed very conservative. This game reminds me alot of the Florida State game last year. Week 3. College Gameday road game . 1st year starting quarterback. Nobody giving Louisville much of a chance once again. I think that just like last year vs Florida State, Louisville will be able to get over that hump and finally knock off Clemson. BUT I wouldnt be suprised at all to see Clemson come in and pull out a win. Our last 3 meetings have all been outstanding games. This game is being marked as the biggest home game for Louisville since 2006 original "Black Out Game" where #5 Louisville upset #3 West Virginia. I hope Louisville is able to get it done. Good luck everyone, hope you enjoy the game!

"Clemson doesn't stand a chance against Bama" they won (and almost won the year before). They cant beat Ohio state....well they did 31-0 (and in 2014 Orange Bowl). They cant beat Oklahoma, and they have....twice. Last year and this year people said they couldn't beat Auburn, and they did. Said Clemson couldn't beat Florida st the last two years, and, of course, they did. I guess the doubters can keep crying wolf, and EVENTUALLY they will be right. Perhaps its this week, or perhaps not, but when are you going to learn this team shows up for the big games? No way in hell I put my money on Louisville. Jackson may very well put up numbers, but he will also be scrambling for his life behind that weak O-line vs the stout D-line. Another point with the Clemson-Auburn game that I haven't seen anyone mention was Auburns yards after catch; they were non-existent. If Louisville's WR's can't get open while Jackson is running for his life, then it may be a long night for them. Well Lamar was able to put up over 450+ yds of offense on a better Clemson defense last year and with a worse offensive line in their own house under the lights. So I wouldn't completely doubt Lamar going into Saturday.

He definitely isn't the most beloved writer out there but he does know his stuff when it comes to college football. I always listened to his periscopes last year involving his picks and thoughts on games and he helped me out a ton.
I believe he is only giving out his picks now to "VIP members" which is $99 so that stinks..

Really like this analysis, Train. Last 2 years, both teams have struggled offensively against each other. While we do have a MUCH better offense this year than year's past (obviously), I still think the likelihood of a slow start is very high.
Ive bet Louisville every game this year for a perfect 4-0 ATS on our games, but am not touching a side on this one! Will be making the trek to Death Valley from Louisville though! Go Cards!

Hey Gianfranco, 1st time seeing this thread and I noticed it went from college basketball to now just NBA. Just curious as to why? Figured i'd ask rather than reading thru nearly 300 pages (mobile). Thanks and best of luck.
