Week 7: (6-7-2)
* Last week was a tough week. First losing week of the season. Started the day 4-0-1 and it all went downhill from there. Damn PAC12 has killed me all year. So, I am staying away from PAC12 altogether this week. * Maybe should have exercised more caution last week -- didn't see some of the 'situations' very clearly. Will do better this weekend. YTD: (65-46-8) Week 8 Picks: * TULSA: -4 (1.5u) * OK ST.: -7 (1u) * IOWA: +2 (1u) * UMASS: -7 (1u) * SMU: -7 (1u) * FAU: -3 (1u) * ND: -3 (1u) * WVU: -9 (1u) * WYO: +14 (1u) * USF -11.5 + O54: (.5u) * PUR/RUTG: U47 (1u) * BAMA/TENN: O51 (1u) |

*nice start to the day. Great comeback win by WVU - took them awhile to get settled in but they took over second half. Grier and secondary made some great plays.
*Michigan is totally inept offensively, certainly lucky to push that game. So predictable and O'Korn is not going to cut it moving forward. Michigan is now a team to fade moving ahead if they don't make any changes offensively. *Very glad to see EMU go for 2 to try and win the game --- secured the cover either way. That game pretty much went how I expected. *Already off to a good start on the late afternoon games as well. Let's keep this rolling... |

did you go to VT? I'm from the area...went to Radford, nearby. Went to VT vs ODU game this year; hope to make it to another....
Anyway, Like CAL +10 2h as well. WAZU offense totally out of sync - Falk can't find people down the field. GL man |

Weekday 7pt Teaser Parlay (.5u) (+220)
* USA +25 * ULL -7 * CLEM/SYR O50 * WAZU/CAL O47 * Just barely covered the 50 on the teaser parlay. Kelly Bryant should have never played. Props to SYR for coming out and playing a great game -- they brought it to CLEM, not the other way around. That was not the type of loss you typically see from CLEM -- penalties, undisciplined, blown coverages, mistakes all over the field. * All favorites in these weekday games have come out sluggish, under performed, and I hope it is not a preview for the games tomorrow. * Lets see some points in the second half of WAZU/CAL so we can hit the over and head into the weekend strong. Honestly, I'm a little surprised this game was not rescheduled or moved - air quality issues and fire just on the outskirts. Anyways...Let's get some points! |

Updated.....And believe this is my last pick (aside from ML Parlay) that I will make for this week. MIGHT go on one more game total...
* WVU -3 (1u) (-120) * early kickoff for TT and homecoming game will make one of the toughest places to play a little tougher for TT. * WVU out gained TCU by 100 yards last week and probably should have won that game. Same goes for their game against VT early in the season (out gained them by 130 yards). WVU could be the best 2 loss team in the country? imo. * I have said it multiple times this year - their defense is underrated (especially their pass def) - and now it's time to show it against TT. * WVU has run the ball well and I think they should lean on the run if they get the lead to keep the ball out of TT hands. * The keys of this will be: Turnovers (TT top Big 12 TO margin); Grier and downfield pass game; and red zone scoring -- TT is at the bottom of Big 12 in TD conversion percentage in redzone. |

I would be interested in seeing that as well. There a few of these scenarios this weekend (on at least one of them) with some 'head scratching' lines...

GL Fence...
Was going to play Clem -21 earlier in the week but there was still some uncertainty around Kelly Bryant so I stayed away. Wish I would've taken it there. Just hoping both those games go over for my 7 point teaser parlay to start the week off on a nice note! |

Adding:
* COLORADO -10 (.5u) I'm really surprised this line is moving in this direction. Makes me a little nervous but I am going to trust my original analysis and early play at -12.5. Want to get at -10 to protect against the number for .5u. Fingers crossed for continued debacle from Oreg St (a program in apparent free fall). |

Tanaka has 2 postseason appearances. Losing in 2015 WC game to HOU vs. Keuchel and his gem against CLE on Sunday. Hard to say exactly what "Playoff Tanaka" is yet.
Yes, HOU is coming off extended rest - so early inning rust could play factor. Yes, Tanaka looked great against CLE and has 22 K's in his last 14 innings of work. However, hard to ignore his performances vs HOU overall. I think Yankees will score some runs on Keuchel because they work pitchers late in counts and can get hot at any moment. I see this game 6-4 Astros. (I hope I'm wrong because I'm a Yankee fan; just going off the numbers -- I certainly love the momentum they have built up this week) I still like Yankees chances to win the series -- But, game 1 will be tough. |

Tanaka:
* 2017: 6.48 ERA on the road with 4-7 record. * 1 start vs HOU: 1.2 IP with 8 ER * Career vs HOU: 10.38 ERA and winless in 4 starts *That is not encouraging. However, he looked great in his last outing vs CLE. So, maybe he keeps it going. Keuchel has been a Yankee killer over the past 3 years. *Lean is HOU (-182) at home and HOU TT O4.5 runs for Game 1 |
