Bama 38
Auburn 24 with a late score Auburn hasn't stopped anyone with a balanced offense and the Bama D is hands down the best they've faced since LSU. The public wants an upset but they'll have to wait for Jan because Bama's been prepping for this game for over three weeks so don't let the LSU hangover that showed up in Starkville fool you. Happy Thanksgiving and BOL

I know there's some good weed up there but just what the hell are they thinking with all that reflective road worker safety yellow Bull garbage? Roll Tide Go Bama |

TCU very similar IMO. I was on them last week and plan to take the sluggish JayHawks. At 0-3 the fair weathered fans will be across town eating fried everything and the Horn Toads will be looking ahead to the next two or three weeks.

Big, big fan but struggling with your OU pick.
TCU lost a tough road game against and vastly underrated TT squad and played a solid game against LSU on a neutral field. IMHO, TCU probably has the best two loses in college football this year and was in both games at the end Another small factor is my view of the SMU game. To me it looked like TCU was looking ahead to this game and had done very little game planning. If my read is right, they spent two weeks to preparing for Stoops. On this flip side, OU may be looking ahead this week to the RRR. Talk me of the ledge, Thanks and BOL |

Your tread your rules, trols will be trolls its just seems to me that the game was as I expected and both sides of the bet could have been right.
You may not agree but IMHO Bama has the clear overall talent edge and and if they play the typical disaplend game they play they probably hang 21 or more on the aggies based on the game I watched. On the flip side they didnt and almost gave it away.
I'm not bashing either way and never read any of the trolling or intended my post as a one. BOL |

I stayed away from the game due to the local books line and the Fluker distraction. I'm a big Bama fan but was all over TA&M in last years game.
There is no question that Johnny is the real deal, plain and simple, but clearly without 13, who was nearly impossible to cover and refs which turned out to be the 12th man, this game is never close after the opening cobwebs. Boom, I'm not a hater but you clearly bring it out of people. To beat your chest over a miracle cover in a game could have gone one 10 directions is pretty LOL.
The Hail Mary highlight that had Vern and Gary all worked up could have just as easily have been another pick 6 not to mention the two holds by the same O lineman. The shot to the head that was reversed was clearly a play on the ball, could not be overturned by the booth even though they overturned the shot to the head. Bama played late prevent and let the game get a lot closer that it really was in the second half. Johnny's good but even with all the youthful mistakes, Bama's better. At the end of the game it reminded me of Tombstone. Johnny Cash Football had a look like, somebody just walked or his grave. |

Roll Tideman, I hate to fade you but I like the doors straight up. All thoses 4.0s getting 7 at home, early, healthy. Maybe the ole ball coach is back but last year he sure looked like he'd lost a step or two.

Weather it be the Penn ST saga or the Ohio ST players and tattoos or the thugs in Miami, it will be forever be remembered as the year of scandals. I hate it too. I hate when anything takes away from the game we all love so much. Will 2012 be free of scandals? Only time will tell. Agree 2. RG3, Everyone of you better be thankful that you get to say.." I got to see that guy play". Why? RG3 may be one of if not the greatest college football players I have ever witnessed. I actually put him on the level of Tommie Frazier. Remember that guy? I know a lot of younger guys dont remember him that well.... but that guy was insane. RG3 we all thank you for being great and yes I'm proud to say I got to see that guy play. I caught a perfect game once. Problem is my 13 year old team mistakenly got scheduled against an 8-10 year old team. Socks is good but 8 or 10 college players come to mind that were better against better comp. 3. This was the year of ESPN controlling the media. what you say? Yes, I have said it a million times and I will say a million times over. The media ( espn ) shoved the "rematch" down our throats. Was Alabama a great team? Absolutely they were. remember it was me months ago telling you guys that this may be the greatest defense we will ever see. But this isn't the point. It's about fairness and about rewarding teams and IMO, Alabama didnt deserve to be in that game. Although they beat LSU that's not the point. The point is clear. The only reason Oklahoma ST wasn't in that game was because of the love affair that ESPN has with the SEC and they have the power to manipulate the way people think. Guess what? Good thing you have Boom here to clear your minds of the garbage and explain to you whats real and whats fantasy. 4. A great legend walks away from the game. Love him or hate him, Joe Pa is and will always be remembered as a ambassador for college football. The guys team first mentality was a rare thing that coaches dont seem to have these days. DO I think he did enough to stop what was going on? Probably not. Do I think that he really fully understood what was going on? Sorry but I dont. I know a lot of you guys dont want to hear that but it's my opinion. I think Joe Pa is a good man who got caught up in a bad deal. The college football world says good bye Joe. 5. Teams who woke up. Michigan has to come to mind. Hoke ( like I said he would LOL.. ) would revive this program. I think that this team will start to build on this past season and become that Michigan of old that we were use to seeing. Clemson. I know they had a melt down in the Orange bowl but this team is clearly on the rise. Do any of you know how many players Clemson has that are sophomore or younger? 73 to be exact. 52 Freshman and 21 Sophomore on a team that list 106 players on the roster. This team is young and will only get better. 6. Im so sick of expansion. Rivalry's destroyed by the greed of some. It's crazy we are losing games like Texas Texas A&M and Missouri Kansas. This IS college football guys. this is why we love it. I live in the state of South Carolina, Believe me I have to here it for 365 days a year that the Gamecocks beat us. I hate the gamecocks...but this this is what makes it great. I dont know about you guys, But I like it just the way it is. 7. The game is changing men. I know that you guys think that defense wins championships... but its simply not true anymore. I think what Alabama did was amazing but I do think that teams like this are becoming extinct. Offense wins championships, Sorry but its true. How you say? Ask Green Bay, New Orleans, New England, Last years Auburn team. What do all these teams have in common? Great offenses. More importantly great QB's. Show me a great QB and I will show you a champion. I know that teams like Alabama and the 2001 ravens will show up every now and then but as for the "norm"...its offense now baby. 8. Bad Coaching and officiating. I seen some of the worse coaching I have ever seen in all my life. I know it seems like we all bitch about it every season but my goodness. Whether it was managing the clock or simply blowing timeouts that cost there teams...it was bad. Officiating is every gamblers " nemesis". I hate them as much as the next guy but some of these clowns dont understand how to ref a a damn softball game more less a college football game. 9. THE BCS dont work. We need a playoff. Did we learn this, this year? NO!!!! We re- learn it every year. It's a beauty contest and media driven concept. We know we need a playoff, the Germans know we need a playoff, the Haitian farmers know we need a playoff but our " NCAA Committee " doesn't get it. Somebody scream with me now.....WTF!!!!!!!!! I have a simple plan. Just call me up, I will fix it all. 10. One of the biggest things I learned this year was how bad some of posters are here on covers. Why these guys make a life out of stalking others and trying to bring others down is beyond me. Why attack people here on covers? Why? Are we not here to help each other? Are we not here to give our opinions and insight on our teams? Then why is it we talk and treat each other the way we do? This forum CAN be a place where tons of knowledge could be passed on from person to person but yet it has turned into a fucking clown show at times. You know what? Mods on here need to do a better job of controlling the trash in here. I know it sounds like I'm calling you guys out a little....I am. Sorry men, if there is one thing you know about Boom is.......HE WILL TELL IT LIKE IT IS, IT'S CALLED THE TRUTH. Hope you all enjoyed all the rants and 10 things we learned this season. June will be around the corner and so will I be with my College football breakdown. |
