As many as 40,000 people crammed into
Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama, to greet GOP presidential
candidate Donald Trump Friday evening in what is being called the
largest 2015 presidential primary campaign event of the season.
Some attendees traveled from as far away as Florida and California to attend.
Meanwhile, a Reuters/Ipsos poll on Friday
showed Trump has widened his lead over fellow GOP candidates, as nearly
32 percent of Republicans say they support him – up from the 24 percent
cited a week ago.
Amanda Mancini, who flew in from Los Angeles, told CNN she’s joining a new movement called “Women for Trump.”
“I wanted to be part of it,” she said. “I initially thought it was
going to be small, and I thought Trump wouldn’t be coming to me in
California, so I would have to come to him.”
Thousands more watched online. Even people in the Netherlands tuned in to see Trump.
Retired Marine Keith Quackenbush told CNN: “This isn’t about
Republicans. It isn’t about Democrats. This is a movement of citizens
across America tired of the BS.”

Donald Trump is down in Dixie today - Mobile, Alabama. More than
35,000 people are expected to turn out -- a crowd so big they had to
move the whole thing to a football stadium.
Not too bad for a guy
written off by the political pundits and fellow candidates like Jeb
Bush. Mr. Trump is filling up football stadiums while Governor Bush can
barely fill up the banquet hall down at the Best Western.
Let's
just assume that Jeb is telling us the truth, that Mr. Trump is not
really a conservative. That he's a liberal wearing Pat Nixon's cloth
coat.
If that's true, how sad is it that Mr. Trump is better
playing a make-believe conservative than someone who professes to
actually be a conservative? Maybe Jeb should replace his exclamation
mark with an emoji.
The other day a conservative commentator said
Mr. Trump was ruining the GOP. Folks, the only thing responsible for
ruining the Republican Party is the Republican Party.

Sen Jeff Sessions Joins Donald Trump Onstage At Campaign Event
Wears A Trump Hat
Symbolism is important in politics. Three important symbolic gestures
were made by Senator Jeff Sessions on Friday night at a campaign rally
for Donald Trump.
First, the fact that he was in attendance was important and spoke to
his support of the candidate or at a minimum of his message. Secondly,
Senator Sessions addressed the crowd in support of the candidate,
particularly his stance on immigration and in returning jobs to American
workers, a position which Sessions has championed.
The most stark symbol of his support was the donning, although
briefly, by Senator Sessions of a white Trump campaign hat bearing his
slogan of “Make America Great Again.” Clearly, Senator Sessions went on
the record as sharing the views of Mr. Trump in this most critical area
of American policy and welcomes the opportunity to help in correcting
the course of our nation.
Senator Sessions won his current tenure in the Senate with no
opposition and clearly appeared to enjoy the chance to once again be
involved in campaigning, particularly for a crowd of that size,
estimated to be between thirty and forty thousand people.
Sessions is very popular not only within his own state but among
patriots across the nation. His support at this event is very
significant.

And I think this is different from previous presidential attempts by him.
People are pissed off, frustrated, at the lack of anything getting done at the current elected officials in Congress & President. Current Repubs are lapdogs to the President and is sickening . (yes, you McConnell, Boehner, Graham, McCain, etc.)
And people wonder why Trump is doing so well ? He is telling the people what they want to hear... And he says it with some Passion.
... Meanwhile, Bush talks to people like he is falling asleep, and talking to the floor . Who the F&chk is this guy ?

FOX news now saying it was only about 30,000. I wonder how many were on Trumps payroll?
You make a good point...now you have me wondering how many of the millions and millions of people who watched Trump's Rally covered live on CNN and MSNBC were actually on Trump's payroll ?

I'll wait for a Hillary rally with comparable enthusiasm, please let me know when that happens. I'm sure she'll get the crowd going with the "War on Women" and "Black Lives Matter" b.s. Good luck to her.
Keep discounting Trump. It's pretty funny that he can stand there and tell the truth about how stupid our government is and who can argue the point? He's a man of great accomplishment, more than anyone on either side can lay claim to. No getting around the fact that politicians are a bunch of talkers and he's a doer. Time will tell but Bush brought us Obama and now the Obama regime is bringing us Trump. The middle east is on fire, our country is in more debt than ever, and a laughing stock on most levels due to government incompetence. Why should we provide security for countries all over the world for free? He laid out some great facts last night that even the blindest ideologues can understand but we'll see.

Who cares, it's in f@cking Alabama. Boring behind state with nothing to do. Besides Trump has zero chance of winning the nomination anyway.
Have you spent a lot of time doing nothing there? I always wonder what people mean when they say this. Nothing against Alabama. But I am sure there are the normal things to do there like any other state, by and large. What exactly would you like to do that you couldn't do in Alabama or Iowa or Maine or California? California can't even hardly get in ocean without wetsuit.
People always say about there city or state. There's nothing to do here. Nothing to see. Nowhere to go. What do they want? Maybe a bigger city has more choices. Like a variety of restaurants, more museums, more parks. But how often do people that live there even go to the museums or parks or try new restaurants? Just always think a case of people thinking grass is greener everywhere but where they are.
Wherever you go there are people to meet and things to do. They may not be the things you grew up doing and prefer. But the folks that grew up there may not want the hustle and crowds of big cities. I get if you are in a very small town. But your average nearby city had things to do and places to visit and see. Be adventurous and do it. May even like the occasional tractor pull if you try one out.
Just seems a little arrogant to knock other cities and states as hillbillies or flyover or nothing to do states. But oh well.
