i know, i know, but just play along for a second, wouldn't they be making a big deal about this sexual assault epidemic in the military rather than this benghazi nonsense.
the reports of rape in the military is pretty crazy.
it might at least start the process of getting people to think republicans aren't indifferent to rape and women and could even get them a few normal female voters at some point in the distant future.

..."while the 49ers had the better offense and defense, the Ravens had the best special teams in the league this year. If they do pull off the upset, on the heels of Steve Weatherford’s game-changing performance for the Giants in last year’s Super Bowl, perhaps it will be time for a new cliché: punters win championships. But don’t count on that."
Silver may have his chips on the 49ers, Ravens fans should take his football predictions with a grain of salt: Earlier this month, Silver predicted the Super Bowl would feature the Patriots and the Seahawks, a call that clearly fell flat.

evaluating the statistical significance and other issues relevant to a poll's accuracy is a different analysis than picking football sides against the spread.

Nate did good in the 2012 election ..but not so good in his Super Bowl predictions (just like are self-acclaimed resident Political Super Bowl Guru)
Before the election myself and a few others said the obvious that Obama was going to win and put your money on it even if you are not voting for him. It was so freaking obvious. The polling average was not going to be wrong. 14 and others like FRC kept highlighting one poll out of dozens that said XZY state is trending to Romney based on just this one poll, therefore Obama is done. It is comical to read their "analysis". My best day betting ever was election day.
Nate Silver aggregated the polls and used his model to predict each and every state correctly. Few pundits did that. Can't hate on the guy for making that happen. He can be wrong but in a political race it is much easier to go with the numbers and predict then a sporting event where things happen that you can't predict. I wouldn't bet against him in 2014 or 2016 and hopefully FRC and 14 will have wised up and they will bet Nate Silver and fade Rasmussen.

so slim... what is your opinion on what cool_arrow stated talking about 14 and others like frontrowcenter and how they posted concerning the 2012 presidential election?

I think the problem is that the GOP base as a whole are not smart... there are alot of smart republicans out there, but the fox news lemmings have been prescribed bengazi to literally crap their pants over and will do some repeatedly on a daily basis...
The idea that the GOP based on principles or values has become silly... their "herd" just follows what ever prescribed talking point they have been dictated and it dominates how they think and on this site how they post...
you see them on here... the real sad ones... that have no independent thought other than the rhetoric they have been fed and when anyone gives some independent thought or perspective they accuse them of being a leftist liberal extremist...

I was going to start a similar thread but it was going to be titled
If Democrats were Smart...
They would convince Obama to resign which would give them a fighting chance in 2024.
So Hillary is also a two term president? She will be a hard act to follow but as long as the GOP remains the party of stupid the Democrats can nominate an ostrich and still win on intelligence.

No doubt the GOP will gain momentum on these scandals. Remember Nixon resigned, so Americans threw out his VP, Ford and went for Carter. Then Carter was gone in four, for Regan.
But this IS an opening for Republicans. Suddenly Hillary ain't such a sure thing.

i think hilary is a sure thing unless something major happens. these "scandals" may have some legs into 2014 but by 2016, i suspect the bigger issue will be the bozos the republican party calls candidates like the last election. there is no indication we won't see the likes of santorum, bachmannia, perry or something similar and that will be the end of that.
of course, the economy will be a huge issue along with immigration which won't go away as demographics continue to change. the fed can keep pumping money into the economy so that the stock market goes up every day but can they do that for another 3 years? if so, the economy might look real good for hilary. i'd love to see them take all this money out of the system and see how the economy and stock market do without it.

What the Republicans can gain is the" Big Mo"from these scandals in the 2014 elections ... hold the House and take over the Senate.
21 of the 35 seats are up for election are now held by Democrats.
Without having President Obama on the ballot to coattail Dems could be in trouble ..Midterm years usually favor the party, that does not hold the Presidency.

This gains no momentum... they were better off kicking the dead horse on the guns talking point...
so many people predicted obama would lose and called him a "one-term president" like Bush...
Hillary was never a sure thing unless you talk to don juan who is as bad of a partisan lemming as 14,frc and the rest of the "crew"...
I honestly believe that the simply need to avoid choosing Complete Losers like romney/ryan and they should win or be very close in a presidential race against hillary...
the history of the GOPs during the obama era is to make huge blunders in strategy...
I personally think the best strategy is to not say much about benagazi and let the main stream media do its thing and then when hillary runs bring it up and talk about it not being covered...
but now they cant play that card because if they did the american public would say that idea was ludicrous because they crapped their pants over it for months because the fox "news" ticker, fox and friends, rush/hannity/beck etc. prescribed them to...
once again... sticking to the topic of the thread... If the GOP were smart, they would employ strategy that would help them win in 2016...

arent all people who lean left or democrat mindless obama voters that support him no matter what? I thought your liberalism was supposed to be this horrible enemy from with in
arent you a liberal? and let me clarify, Im not doing the childish game of calling people a liberal and lying about it to argue against...
My 21st century voting record is....
I voted paul in 2012 (write in), obama 2008, bush 2004, bush 2000...

its hard for me because I historically thought that the GOP was the smarter party.... but what we have seen with 21st century history is that their base and mindless followers seem to be getting dumber and dumber..
then these GOP dummies elect other dummies who speak their language... sure fox "news" and other talking heads like beck/rush/oreily etc are to blame for the GOP getting dumber, but I actually wonder if the GOP thought that winning short term might be based on filling the party with as many GOP dummies as possible...
which is too bad because it waters down the numerous GOPs that are not dummies...
you see a similar thing happen in this forum where the GOP dummies and their childish games and meltdown out number the conservative minded people you are able to engage in an intelligent dialog...

A good call on your part too...I wouldn't bet the election though ..I felt it was a coin toss..
A coin toss has odds at -105/-110. Obama was a -350 or even higher favorite the week or so before the election. It really was quite easy and not surprising at all to see the result. I have several Republican friends who fell into your same trap Slim so you definitely are not alone.
