Maybe if we start suing the gun store sellers, just as we do bar owners who sell booze, and put them in freaking jail, they will get it. Here's another link, Wal-Mart stops selling.

Donjuan, our link does not say Wal-Mart stopped selling .. Wal-Mart has stopped showing the Bushmaster Patrolman's Carbine M4A3 rifle on its website...There is no word whether Wal-Mart will stop selling the weapon at its stores.
Same with person's Sporting Goods they have taken all of the guns off the shelves at its store near Newtown, Conn, and has suspended sales ...(suspend usually means temporarily ..

While you are on the phone with your rep. also ask if they will take away the right to free speech, and religion while they are at it.
first ask how many children have been massacred by overly aggressive interpretations of freedom of speech and religion. wait, don't ask about religion, just free speech.

Gun fanatics always have to ratchet up the examples, anything to protect their guns.
I dont have a problem with gun rights (even though I think the gun right has stomped the hell out of the second amendment) I think there needs to be a TIGHT line drawn, and right now we have no line..outside of a missle launcher or an armed tank..

It is not that I am insulted, it is that you are dismissing my views, and by calling me a fanatic you are implementing a non-starter to the debate.
I believe that we have the right to bear arms, not for sporting, not for recreation, or even to secure our homes.
I believe that we have a sacred right instilled in the declaration of independence , with lofty ideals like the consent of the governed, and even the right to revolt.
I believe these things, and have signed my name on a paper, and taken an oath that i also feel is sacred to defend these things and putting my life behind my words.
So when you belittle my position, and when it gets denigrated as fanatical, or extreme, I do not get offended. I get pissed off.
Two legitimate questions Wall.
1) Do you believe that our country was founded on the principle of consent of the governed, and our founders (weary of over-reaching government) instilled within the framework of our country checks and balances to prevent Tyranny?
2)Do you believe that our country was also set up with the "right to revolt" instilled within the framework.

Oh really?
Since you're like so informed on this topic, why don't you tell us the process to purchase an automatic rifle?
I can't wait to hear all about it.

I look at the second amendment differently than you do. I see the phrasing centered around the militia, not a blanket, anything goes tool for the gun right to abuse as they have and corporations to enslave us into.
I think tyranny back at that time was an issue..we have expanded as a nation and geographically there is absolutely no comparison to where we originated and what started the process of looking for another place to live (the US).
I also think the right to revolt argument is not a catch all, it would be used in extreme situations..we have representation, we have a legal framework to express our differences and to make claim to what we might not agree to.
I do not see things in the extremes as you do and I think the gun right and corporations have crapped all over the second amendment as a way to gain power and profits..it is blatantly obvious to me.
We need to drastically draw a line and rid this country of weapons which serve no purpose and are nothing more than profit tools for the gun corps..I am not saying my view of how to rid the country of these weapons is what should happen but to me you have to drastically take action if it matters.
To you it does not matter..you blame the person, I think the scale and scope of weapons has gone too far and should be dramatically cut down immediately.

I can't wait to read all about it.

I do blame the person, and find it absolutely shocking that people give the person a pass, so that they can attack their special interest in banning personal use of firearms.
The firearm does not have the ability to walk to a school and start shooting.
Taking the responsibility for this evil away from the individual and putting it not only on the firearm, but the entire 2nd amendment is just the type of thinking that got us the patriot act after 9/11.
If you are scared enough you will allow anything.
I also do not belong to the NRA.
I have thought about joining the Gun owners of america.

Maybe if we start suing the gun store sellers, just as we do bar owners who sell booze, and put them in freaking jail, they will get it. Here's another link, Wal-Mart stops selling.
Its a shame that you don't realize how ridiculous that sounds.
Me and my friends just spent over a grand on liquor a week and a half ago at a few bars at Fishermens Warf. I didn't see any of the bartenders prosecuted or sued or punished in any way.
How are gun sellers to properly discriminate between law abiders and law breakers?
A bar tender can see if his patron can stand up or not.

You old geezerk...lol maybe it's time we put you in a home for the elderly...lol
Seriously speaking now, IMHO they should ban all these assault type weapons and we need to get serious about getting these mentally ill people incarcerated somehow let's start by first getting don juan incarcerated...lol

I don't think there would be enough compliant members of Government,Military,Law Enforcement Officers, and U.S.Citizens to forge such tyranny that some are suggesting would or in fact will occur.
I'm not exactly of the idea that the concept of the 2nd Amendment is antiquated, but the rants and reasoning of folks about how to apply it pertaining to AW's certainly sounds / reads outdated.

Thats just a diversion rick..comparing what they spend to other industries..well that just doesnt mean a single thing.
They lobby for their interests just like other groups lobby for their interests..the ammt of money involved does not mean much.
What on a percentage of product sales do they lobby relative to the other groups? That means much much more than some flat figure.
So if the NRA lobbies 1 million a year and sales of weapons and ammo is 100 M a year, then the percentage is X
If Monsanto lobbies 1 M a year and sales of the genetic cocktail poision is 50M a year, then the percentage is X
I think you have to find common figures to determine much of anything..plus I want to toss ALL lobbyists..I dont care what side they are on..all of them should be kicked out and disbanded.

It is fun to vilify and denounce the NRA, but look at their pathetic contributions compared to labor, or finance.
