In President Obama’s best-selling memoir, “Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance,” the president recalls being fed dog meat as a young boy in Indonesia with his stepfather, Lolo Soetoro.

“With Lolo, I learned how to eat small green chill peppers raw with dinner (plenty of rice), and, away from the dinner table, I was introduced to dog meat (tough), snake meat (tougher), and roasted grasshopper (crunchy),” the president wrote. “Like many Indonesians, Lolo followed a brand of Islam that could make room for the remnants of more ancient animist and Hindu faiths. He explained that a man took on the powers of whatever he ate: One day soon, he promised, he would bring home a piece of tiger meat for us to share.”

Too bad for Barack ....that Lolo wasn't any better than Obama at keeping his promises...

SarasotaSlim – What’s the point of this thread. Was it to be funny? Many cultures eat what we consider pets. My great grandfather lived on a ranch and ive eaten many different kinds of animals that people would frown upon. All taste good with ketchup by the way.

Did you click on the ABC News link ?

Much has been made about Mitt Romney, in 1983, putting his family dog Seamus in a kennel on top of his roof and driving from Boston to Canada ....

Democrats have signaled they have every intention of making sure the American people — especially dog-lovers — know the tale...

Obama's story just shows us how he treats man’s best friend.....

Interesting.

So Obama can be criticized for being fed dog as a boy.

How about when a top compaign contributor (Romney has a choice who contributes) killed and cooked a dog for fun.

Ooops.

Since the Obama supporters bring up Romney's dog so much it was only a matter of time we would find out about something like this. One thing I can say about Romney's dog.....it went on vacation it came home from vacation. Obama's dog didn't. Millions and millions of dog owners will look at President differently because Americans love their dogs.

As Johnny Carson might say: “That is weird, wacky stuff.”

I used to bet on greyhounds, never considered eating one.

Hey, to each his own.

I guess some of Obama's supporters fear transparency about him.

You know you've struck some nerves when posters oppose having information about Barry, whether past or current, becoming exposed.

Posting something about the POTUS is fundamental forum fodder, isn't it ?

Romney was a middle aged adult.  Obama was a young child.  I don't think anyone would mention Romney's dog if it was his dad that did it and the young lad Romney was along for the ride.
