I remember the good old days of being a kid and filling up the expedition with .79 cents gasoline. That thing had a big gas tank.  Way back when, in 1999

Imagine all the things we could do with 1$ menu gas again, good times!

You know what else was rad. That credit card free money explosion of the late 90's, i was getting two offers a day for 0% credit cards.

We need to figure out a way to get back to those good times again

all i know is if gas is 4.50+ in november and obama still wins, we are fucked.

i just wished i had a poor work ethic, abuse problems, kids out of wedlock, and no education so i could take advantage of his policies.

When the economy is revving up, demand for fuel comes in advance.  Gas prices plummeted in late 2008/2009 because the economy was in the shitter and there was no demand.

-------------------------------

So are you suggesting the economy is "revving up" (it is not) and there is hight demand for gasoline right now?

Is that what you're trying to say?

My God you would think a kid with a college education would know that Presidents dont control the price of gas

--------------------------

Of course nobody said they control the price of gas.

It is the stated policy preference of the Obama Administration to have high gasoline prices.

Now that the prices are high, you're pretending that Obama doesn't want that and can't do it anyway.

Which leaves one wondering why the Secretary of Energy (he won a nobel prize you know!) said gas prices should be higher. I mean, if the Executive doesn't control the price of gas, why is he talking about it?

OOPS!

People who think Keystone helps supply are fooling themselves. Canada has already locked in agreements for where supply goes, this wont add a single barrel to domestic supply.

-----------------------
The price of gasoline is not determined by domestic supply.

Obviously he was making a point about the kind of cars Americans purchase and on that point he is 100% correct

-----------------------

Except he's not "correct" in any manner.

Despite not having "fuel efficient cars" the demand for gasoline is way down. Way, way down.

By the way, It is estimated that a $.10 increase in the price of gasoline results in a decline of about $11.74 billion in personal income.

Welcome to the age of Obama, where your standard of living is crappier.

lmfaoooooooooooo people believing Presidents control gas prices.
My God some of you on this site should have to take an IQ test before being allowed to post.
Our country is at the mercy of the powers who do control oil prices.

Oh and you can bet your behind, in 6 months from now we will all be hearing about how the oil companies once again broke their own profit records.

Now we have millions of hybrids saving gas, American driving billions of miles less a year but the barrel of oil is $106 today. Biggest scam of our lifetime. Price fixing at it's best. Our government is the biggest problem with the entire equation. Supply and demand works in every other industry except energy. One electric company, one gas company and a handful of oil companies control the entire game and we just sit here and suck on it. We rely on our enemies for the product most critical to our economy. Go figure.

Nancy Pelosi 2008:

“This is a scam of the greatest magnitude,” says Speaker Pelosi.

Rising gas prices affect groups like the Boys and Girls Club that is cutting programs to save costs, a small businessman who finds himself being priced out of competition or a caregiver who can’t afford gas to get to clients.

And for other Meals on Wheels programs around the bay, hikes in fuel costs have meant fewer deliveries. They can’t find volunteers who can afford to fill their tanks.

Prices at the pump are a pain for all of us, but Speaker Pelosi is accusing President Bush of policies that have driven up the prices, and says she has a solution to bring prices down immediately,

“Mr. President, do not fill the strategic petroleum reserve with oil at record highs. Instead, take out the oil that we brought at a lower price to bring down the price of oil, to reduce the price at the pump,” says Speaker Pelosi.

====================

I guess some people do believe that the President controls gas prices!

Bush had no control over gas prices just like Obama has no control over gas prices. Seriously are some of you guys on this board that brain dead or just want to blame everything on Obama.
Start blaming whos really at fault for our gas prices, OPEC and the friggin piece of garbage oil speculators who can just trade this garbage on paper, which drives up prices. Maybe if these oil speculators actually had to buy tankers and storage places and take actual possession of the oil, the prices wouldnt be getting whacked like they are.
And like i already said watch in a few months when companies like exxon announce their record profits beat their last record profits.

Its sad how some of you dont even know how things operate and instead just want to keep blaming Obama for things, because your right wing tv hereos keep telling you to blame him.

OPEC, oil companies and speculators are to blame for this garbage, but you fools dont like hearing the truth.  So while the real thieves get away screwing all of us, you geniuses keep blaming Obama

Am sure glad this board really doenst represent the whole of the country, because there is some really low IQ people on this site.

I think some of you here need to stop breeding with family members

Bush had no control over gas prices just like Obama has no control over gas prices.

And yet somehow you never made a single post critical of Democrats blaming Bush.

Funny how that works, isn't it?

and you know this how?  because you have all my posts saved from 4 years?  Wha a friggin loser you truly are.
Heres a news flash for you, any democrat that blamed bush for high oil prices is just a big an idiot as any republican blaming Obama now.
Presidents cant tell others who control the gas prices to lower them. They certainly cant call up the oil traders and tell them to stop driving the prices up.  Like i said maybe if the market made these traders have to actually buy storage places and tankers in order to actually take possession of the oil, we wouldnt see prices going thru the roof.
Oil companies and OPEC are to blame bigtime.
I wonder in 6 months when the oil companies say they had record profits these months, will you just say good for the oil companies or will you be pissed off.  My guess is your loser behind will say good for the companies and still continue to blame Obama.
