totally sickening and then we wonder why the country actually is so far in debt. These rich corporations that some of you die hards will defend to your death for GOD only knows why, are just not paying their fair share like all of us are.
Wake up folks we are being trampled on by big business and not only are they destroying us, but they are killing the small business guy.

Strange that you are going against GE one of the largest employers of union members in the country, who pay 80% of their member's health insurance, and lobbied the Dems at a rate 75% higher than that of Reps.
IS this the most sickening thing they have done.
Not by a long shot.
You should take it up with the Commander and Salesperson of the year B. Obama, he will tell you how safe and effective Nuclear power is 3 days after a meltdown.
Wonder why he would do that.

President Barack Obama two month's ago named Jeffrey Immelt, CEO of NBC Universal parent GE, to his new economic advisory board on JOBS ...Immelt is Obama's new “jobs czar” .....
For the record " I probably wont make anymore post after this one for awhile" lasted less than 5 hrs..........

cd I think the problem here with taxes, the deficit, creating jobs etc....
Is that Obama continued the bush tax cuts, and instead of setting the bar at 250k it should have been at 500k while taxing those individuals a bit heavier. And with that money, the government could then try and stimulate the economy by creating jobs
Clinton created tens of millions of jobs by taxing the wealthy.

Watched food inc. and if half of what they say about Monsanto is true, it might be the single most evil Corporation on Earth.
Not to mention their Genetic Engineering that could possibly kill us all.
Nothing Represents the Corruption of our regulatory agencies quite like Michael Taylor from Monsanto, I first heard of him in a book "Everything Is Going to Kill Everybody" -the terrifying real ways the world wants you dead (must read).
And looked into him a bit .

3% tax rate on over a TRILLION dollars in profits is fantastic!
Oh and dont forget that GE Capital has the government to thank for existing as we speak.
GE is one of the most disgusting and sleazy companies out there..of course Monsanto tops them all.
exactly someday people are going to wake up from the brain fog they are in and realize that these giant corporations have totally destroyed our country while making massive profits that are so large its actually hard to grasp. They will then realize it wasnt the little guy trying to get a small slice of a pie, but the giant leeches who just didnt pay their fair share like all of us have been doing year in and year out.
Its easy to make tons of cash, when you dont pay anything in taxes.
The rich get richer, while the little guy pays for them. Its been like this since mans been on the planet and will be like that until the day man isnt here anymore.

Heres a hug news flash for you Rick, not everything to me is a union or democratic thing. Also what ge is doing has nothing to do with unions, its about them not paying their fair share to the country like the rest of us do with our checks, but guys like you always want to make everything about Obama, unions -non unions, pensions, medical insurance, democrats etc etc etc.
Am for doing the right things, no party what party is involved.
So really go ahead keep living your life with blinders on hating unions, in your whole 2 seconds of working with them, while sucking off big business on a daily basis, because in the long run you are only gonna be hurting yourself, but by the time you actually learn and realize this in life, it will be way to late, you will be a toatl slave to the giant corporations. So good luck with that, hope it works out for oyu

The govts. that allow the corruption have ruined this country CD. Business will do anything to make a buck, and if there are no reprucussions for gaming the Govt. then how can you really fault them.
Look at that article I posted. The president of the United States is in on it. The unions are in on it.
I believe that GE gets away with paying little to nothing in taxes, is because of their large charity contributions (which equal shell companies that funnel money right back into their pockets) and the 80% funding of all of their employee's health care.
If you do not like it the answer is not in condemning GE and crying about corporations, but refining the tax code and eliminating deductions. Cutting the lifeline between Govt and their Corporate buddies is the only answer.

And in response to you CD, I was actually kind of complimenting you on speaking out against the largest unionized corporation in America. Many people that are Pro- Union would have looked the other way.
The Govt. is at fault. The govt does not care about any of us, and they promote this behavior. Your beef is with the Govt. that allows this shit, not the Corporations that exist to only make a profit, only one of these entities is actually supposed to look out for your general welfare.
I would say that the manipulation that Monsanto is guilty of is bordering a threat to national security, and the corruption that they have perpetrated in the white house and other high seats of power is borderline treason. I think that there are a lot of corporations that fit this description. The fault lies with the people that take the oath to serve.

jobs arent created when earnings are stolen from job creators. governments dont create jobs. they simply transfer income and wealth from private taxpayer citizens to political friends

Here is an article about how GE shirks it's Tax liabilities through Lobbying, clever accounting, and not making the stupid mistake of making their money in one of the highest corporate tax countries (USA)

rick,
Food.inc is what really turned me on to Monsanto..I had an opinion about them but that show made me start to listen and dig to find out what they are really about and I 100% believe it and more.
I read the other day that they have been doing GMO work in 3rd world countries where regulation is non-existent and they can pretty much do whatever the hell they want.
Talk about private industry destroying the publi, Monsanto is the absolute worst there is..I could say more nasty things but I wont.

G.E.’s giant tax department, led by a bow-tied former Treasury official named John Samuels, is often referred to as the world’s best tax law firm. Indeed, the company’s slogan “Imagination at Work” fits this department well. The team includes former officials not just from the Treasury, but also from the I.R.S. and virtually all the tax-writing committees in Congress
sounds like a company my pension fund should own

Have you heard about the Birth Control Corn?
They do some real "fringe" stuff, and it is interesting, but it's application is pure evil.
If evil exists on Earth, within a person. They probably get their W-2s from monsanto.

GE knows the tax code and how to cheat the system, thus cheat their tax responsibility.
Until private industry is removed, this is just another day in the life of pulverizing the lower and middle class. GE has more benefit than 99% of individuals and a high majority of companies..they gain GREAT benefit from doing business here and "owning" politicians, if anything a disgusting, slimy company like GE deserves triple taxation..

Lovely..that corn looked like the kind used to create "harmless" HFCS/Corn Sugar..
Its like tobacco, we know these products are toxic, we know these companies are creating and distributing them and profiting off the demise of the public, yet the power and control of the private sector over the government makes us helpless in stopping it.
This to me is just another indicator of what I have said many times, the private sector would/will do whatever the hell it takes to squeeze that last cent out of the serfs until the resources and cash are gone..its a zero sum game to them..profits at any cost and expense on the public.

Sorry Rick, didnt mean to jump on you, your a good guy just having a bad day.
I just wish people would start realizing that now only are these giant corporations are hurting everybody. The little guy and small business are taking the hardest hits. I would love to see all these big corporations gone and go back to small business being the players once again.
Am not for companies making a profit, what am against is how they skate the laws and use lobbyists to get around paying anything towards the day to day running of our country. Its like they get all the benefits without contributing anything.
Just flat out disgusted by all these greedy person companies.
