I mean I have to follow the formula and take Detroit. They are usually very good following losses. The loss of Antonio McDyess is not that big of a loss, as his production will be filled in by Rasheed and Billups, who never have bad games back to back. I am taking the Pistons.

Pistons will respond big time again, just like they did in Game 2. Pistons take this one by double digits. Chauncey better step his game up. This will be my biggest play out of all the games Sunday.

25 turnovers....16 straight shots missed.....mcdyess -broken nose.....wallace touches the ball 6 times for 2points......billups goes 2-11 for 11points......what else could go wrong?......it happens to the best of us.....but dont expect detroit to play this type of ball back 2 back....i refuse to give philly credit for their two wins against the pistons until they can show me that they can beat Detroit when Detroit is at their best.....philly just took advantage of detroit's lack of hunger.....but they will be hungry tommorrow, and its their hunger that will drive the score over the total(just becuz their on the road)....if mcdyess plays tomorrow...that will just boost them up even more...if he dont play ....maxiell will do just fine.....he's a hustler.....DET-OVER

i'm on detroit big myself... they lost for me last time, but I am not afraid to throw double my last play down here, because they will not get dominated in back to back. so far this series has been an every other and here is detroits turn.
DET -5 ...
I'm also with the lord of O/U's (nightridah) on that total... I've been using his logic to figure out how to better play the totals and so far my instincts have been improving. I had the over here with detroit being locked in and scoring while philly will be playing that same consistent type of hustle ball and i think both teams score 90+... i think something like a 101-92 win for detroit sounds right

Detroit is significantly better and you have to figure they realize that eventually. I would've thought they woke up in game 3, but they didn't, which is frightening because it means they are sleepier than I thought, or Philly is better than I thought. I still like the Pistons (hoping they're just sleepy) but I'm less confident now than I was. Pistons by 15.

I will not take Detroit again this year unless they do a mid-playoff FIRING of Flip Saunders. That, or wake up and take the series without losing again... ATS or straight up.

I told you Wangy! Nightridah dont fuck around with the Totals. He is usually dead on!

No clue on this game. I guess if the Pistons decide to show up then I would go with them. If they play anything like they did last game Philly will eventually advance.
I'm surprised at how poorly they have looked in the two loses. I think losing McDyess hurts more than people think but agree with nightridah that Maxiel will do fine. I think this is the toughest of todays games to pick but would go with Det. Gl

I'm from Philly and have said before in these forums that I have been one of the biggest doubter of their skills. However, I backed them in game 1, laid off in game 2 based on some trends Nightridah gave out, and jumped back on them in game 3.
Everyone keeps saying "Detroit is playing their best ball".
Breaking news but they WERE playing their best ball towards the end of the season. The Sixers are just giving them headaches with their scrappy play. Time to start giving credit where credit is due.
Detroit didnt turn it over 26 times by accident. There was another team out there.
Is McDyss out? If so I think thats HUGE. Maxiell is nice hustle player but I dont think he'll be able to stay on the floor. Hes a hack.

refuse credit? beat detroit at their best? they've beat detroit 4 times this year, twice in the playoffs, once in detroit regular season, every game except the one playoffs loss has been within single digits either way. what do you want? what are you waiting for? should philly blow you while beating detroit? 4-3 against this team, give credit, they can get it done, maybe not against everyone else, but certainly against detroit.

Detroit looked . . . . TERRIBLE the other day. And by terrible I mean, unbelievably terrible. The kind of terrible that makes you wonder if they care any more. I mean seriously, have you guys seen a worse performance in the playoffs yet? Including that egg the Nugs laid yesterday.
Think about it - this is the same group of cats that already won a championship a few years ago and then lost in the finals the next year and since then, have been trying to get it up year after year.
What I mean is that these guys are no spring chickens anymore and they don't seem to have the same degree of professionalism that a similarly aged team like the Spurs do.
Chauncy looked clueless, Rasheed is . . . well . . . Rasheed - unbelievably talented but ultimately, still a ticking time-bomb. And except for Tayshaun, none of the rest of those guys even showed up for that game.
I played Philly in game 3 because I just had this feeling, after what happened in game one, and based on some comments Kenny Smith said about the general nature of the Pistons in the playoffs to let teams hang around, that Detroit was going to take game 3 lightly again.
The question of course is: do they wake up and bring it back again in game 4 - and my question once is: Do they care?
Enough to fight off the spunkier, younger, clearly hungrier Sixers?
I don't know man. It feels like the Pistons are just . . . over it.
I'll probably lay off a this one, because the majority of the posts you guys have put up might just be right- Detriot's the better team and they can't possibly take this game lightly . . .
But the Philly home dog at either +6 or even the money line if you've got the nerve looks like a possible upset special.
Good luck either way - and if you're going heavy on Detroit and I'm wrong then good for you
