#4 Posted: 1/10/2011 4:27:51 PM These are the two most physical teams in football and I hate to see them square off against each other before the conference championship; but as my old boss would say, “It is what it is!” Baltimore should have sweep the season series if it wasn’t for the most idiotic call I have ever seen in the history of the NFL by Harbaugh and Cameron. The Ravens look to me like they are back playing inspired defense again like they did on their last Super Bowl run AND they have more weapons on the offensive side of the ball on this trip.
Before the line tightens up, put me down for the Ravens plus the fieldgoal with the hook AND Under the Total please. Thanks! |

#5 Posted: 1/10/2011 4:45:41 PM Steelers. Ben 5-0 against Flacco, Steelers 8-1 in their last 9 wild-card or divisional games at home, and according to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers are undefeated against the AFC North in the playoffs. 17 players on this team have 2 super bowl rings. Steelers with extra rest outlast the Ravens.
PIT 17 BAL 9
Pounding the Steelers ML just in case.

#9 Posted: 1/11/2011 2:05:13 AM Playoff record thus far: (2-2)
PITTSBURGH IS THE PLAY HERE FOR SURE.....two pretty evenly matched teams. Rice will not be able to run up the middle like he did against the piss por performing Chiefs. Steelers are ten times the team KC is, and playing two road games back to back is tuff. Homefield advantage will be big and the Steelers will be nice and rested. Vegas knows people are going to ride a false high on Baltimore after the beat down in KC. Combine that with the hook and you have a nice recipe Vegas cooked up for making people take Baltimore. Steelers lead the Ravens this year in one of my favorite statistical categories....sacks. Steelers are #1 in sacking the quarterback and Baltimore is #27, 48 on the year to 27. Fresh big ben over wacco flacco.
STEELERS -3.5.....OR WAIT TILL GAMETIME MAYBE (-3) |

Sweet Avatar. Too bad our team caught the C Hawks on a good day. Ha Ha.
I agree. The last meeting between these two teams, it was because of a ridiculous call to pass instead of rushing and low and behold, Polumalu makes a play and catches Flaco on a Safety Blitz from a corner position to cause a fumble and allowed Pitt to score with very little time to play late in the 4th quarter. I don't think that they will make the same mistake. I also think that the Ravens are in sync and also have the momentum going into this game. Both teams have some injuries but nothing to significant. These two teams know each other very well and there is no play calling that each team does not knows about the other. This is a rivalry that has gone on for some time and very equally match. Ravens edge is that they have gotten better as the weeks went by while Pitt has shown some inconsistency.

#11 Posted: 1/11/2011 8:21:09 AM 5 Of the last 7 games have been decided by three points or less and I expect nothing different here. I live in the Burgh but my play is Steelers 19 - 16.
Troy got to rest up and the used to be the Browns had to travel and take a few more knocks in a long season. Snow in the forcast Sunday. Should be a slobber knocker with the Steelers pulling one out. It won't be easy with the Baltimorons playing their best football of the season.

#12 Posted: 1/11/2011 9:04:45 AM Initial lean is on the Ravens but I might like Over 36.5 even better. Will wait to see if that comes down a tad. Might also tease it to Ravens +9 / Over 30.5, depending on weather.

#13 Posted: 1/11/2011 11:10:12 AM I like the ravens early in this one. I think both teams try to set the tone early with the running game so I'd rather be taking the points in what I feel should be a close game. |

#14 Posted: 1/11/2011 11:53:43 AM My initial thought was going with the Steelers but after watching the Ravens@Chiefs I actually like Baltimore. I actually hate both teams so at least there'll be no feelings to screw this one up.
Ravens seem to be on a roll and if CC can keep his head cool I think Baltimore pulls out a tough low scoring game.

#20 Posted: 1/12/2011 12:50:11 AM My pick in this game is definitely the under in the first half. Both these teams will be feeling each other out in the 1st and move in the second. Its always been a close game but I think Pitt pulls out the win. Having Troy P. healthy could be the game breaker cause he seems to pull off the big plays in big games. He might just score the only TD in this game.
SAFEST BET BY FAR IS:
1) UNDER 19 @ THE HALF ( parlay )
2) RAVENS + 1.5 AND UNDER @ THE HALF
These will be the only plays on Saturday for me. Its the only one I am comfortable with by far after pondering with all the other games and scenarios. |

#21 Posted: 1/12/2011 1:11:38 AM PIT -3.5 (.5units): another close game, i'll feel better if the hook was gone, but since Flacco has never beaten Big Ben, i'll gamble on a 6-point margin and Palamalu's super-Flacco sacks. SCORE: Ravens 21-Steelers 28
OVER 37 (1units)

#22 Posted: 1/12/2011 1:41:16 AM RAVENS +3.5 I like the points in this one. On top of that I think the Ravens have a good chance to even win it! They will have Heap back this time. He left after the first play last game and it really hurt the Ravens. He's a good blocker and they will keep him back a lot to block in this game. He'll still have some catches but not nearly what he did in the KC game. I think he'll be the x factor that will give the Ravens the edge. In the first game he blocked Palamalu on the tochdown catch to TJ. He wasn't there in the second one to pick up blitzes which killed us on the Palamalu play. Also Flacco looks good at might turn the corner in this one

#23 Posted: 1/12/2011 1:49:50 AM Also I know KC wasn't much of a challenge but I think it was a huge confidence boost which the Ravens really needed. RAVENS 20-17 Good luck

Takin the Ravens on a Payback Against their Hated Rivals. Doesn't matter where this game is played as long as it's played outdoors. Steelers slowly sliding down going up against a Hungry Revengeful Raven Team.
Flyin First Class on this One. |
