Saban's had this one circled for a year. Ole Miss has stumbled out of the gate a little losing to the Seminoles while getting the win against Wofford. After jumping out to a 28-6 lead against Florida St the Rebs lost the game while giving up 580 total yds. Chad Kelly threw for 317 yds but had 3 pics. Bama has looked good in their first two and the defense is leading the team. Agains W. Kentucky I saw a little more zone pass defense and with the pass rush Alabama can generate I hope that spells trouble for Kelly. The Rebs have not had a strong rushing attack and that puts alot of pressure on Kelly against a strong Alabama defense. The last two years Ole miss has outplayed The Tide and deserved to win the ball games. But I think Saban has been game planning this one through out the offseason. Short road trip to their neighbors to the west. Double Revenge, Carma and all the forces of good come to bear on the Ole Miss Rebels. The Tide will not only win but will Roll! Bama -10.5 GLTA except those those who oppose the Tide. I would like to offer this disclaimer. Life long Alabama fan proceed with caution!

Even though I am leaning Alabama -10.5 I am thinking it is better to watch the game and if it is close at half go big on Bama second half. This Bama team will wear down Mississippi, just like Florida State did. Bama has 6 of Mel Kipper's top 25 NFL ready players and they are going to wear down this bunch of Ole Miss. Bama pass rushers are NFL ready.

Preface: This is my first post here, by the way...
The Bama defense has looked the part, no doubt. 11 5-star players flying around making plays, DL getting a great push, LB are everywhere. Secondary has multiple pick-six.
That stout defense has actually masked some problems in the Alabama offense. Sure, the Tide have scored points, but they haven't been able to run the ball effectively inside. They're averaging only 4.4 yards per carry, good for 72nd nationally, and that number is worse when you look at runs in between the tackles. The OL is not playing especially well. The Center, QB, and both HB's are making only their third starts. In fact, except for Cam Robinson at LT every single starter on the OL is new. Pass protection has been mediocre. USC was surprisingly disorganized and Western Kentucky didn't have the speed to handle a multitude of WR Jet Sweeps and deep balls.
Bama is not going to run at will on a big, athletic, Ole Miss D in what amounts to most of these guys first true road game in a hostile environment. I don't think their WR will run free either, and there isn't a QB on this roster that has had to make a pressure throw yet.
Additionally, there is likely to be a lot of public money on the Tide due to Bama's margins of victory and due to what FSU did to Ole Miss in the second half.
.
Bama -11 is a square bet. That number is only so high because the books know that they can hang it and the public will bet it. The right number should probably be Ole Miss +7.5. Rebels are a good team listed as a double digit home dog in conference play.
I like Ole Miss and the Under, but this is a no play for me. I don't want to play this game because I think Chad Kelly is a gunslinger who gets greedy and I can envision a scenario where he throws 5 INT into the heart of this Tide D causing it to be Alabama and the Over.

I'm taking the Tide here. Saban was pissed after last weeks win and I'm sure it translated into a hell week of practice. Ole Miss is not going to sneak up on these guys or, not have Bama's full attention. Hallzer1 and Xenres, great posts with excellent input. For me, I think -11/-11.5 is great value with Bama, I actually think they'll win by 20+ and the reason I say that is because if Saban get the chance to bury them........he will. It's week 3, any inexperience Bama does have should be focused and ready for this one. Just my thougts, GLTA.

Naw, no passing on betting Bama -11, Mel Kipper has 6 of his top 25 draft picks on this Bama team. And they are pissed because Mississippi has beat them the last two years. Ole Miss is very banged up and are thin while Bama is ridiculously deep. Kelly the Mississippi QB is first round NFL material but I don't see him having time to throw the ball. Bama has a couple of pass rushers ready for the NFL right now. Bama -11

Saban was miffed bout the offensive penalties they were taking last week,That will be better on the field today i bet. BAMA will be ready and more disciplined. Also doesnt help Ole Miss by losing their star defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche who went to the NFL

Alabama covers. I tend to stay away from away favorites but I can't see betting against this Alabama team until something changes or the lines get bigger.

Mo glad too see you coming in on the right side on this one, although the last time we teamed up on a college football game we came up a little short. Oh well we'll be happy after this one, I hope. GLTU Moho
