I think the talent differential is nominal...UGA D may be a bit better which is loaded with 1st and 2nd day draft picks...

the difference will be the coaching...Richt will find a way to F it up for UGA

Bama -7.5

Georgia +7.5 is the play here, odds are that bama will win the game but not by more than a TD. Bama loses top wr, georgia has plenty of talent on both sides of the ball and aaron murray most efficient qb in league statistically. Leaning towards georgia with the edge on offense and bama edge on D however like i said before i cant see georgia losing by more than a td and an outright win is not outta the question. Its in the georgia dome? Is that right?

Yes its in the Georgia Dome.  Very little home field advantage here if any though.

Alabama's top receiver is Amari Cooper. Kenny Bell did get hurt. He is a good vertical threat but is not the top wideout on Bama's team. Word is they are pulling the redshirt of Chris Black who was a 5 star receiver from Florida that got hurt in spring practice to fill Bell's place.

Georgia covers this line and may win the game.

Kick Bama in the teeth first and you have a better chance at the win (LSU-A&M).

As a Bama Alumni...this game makes me nervous.  7 points seems like a lot, it really depends on UGA's QB because he looks great some games, but against a good defense he tends to play his worst.  Chris Black losing his redshirt and playing would be a nice addition because I believe he was the 2nd overall WR behind the kid that signed with Missouri.  Also, with all the trash talking by UGA players and the fact Bama is in the spot for a title each year, I think Bama will handle the pressure a lot better than UGA will.  I would take Bama for the win...but probably teaser UGA +14

Gold Sheet's Statistics on Matchup!

(Hopefully, text won't come out all broken up, but might be small)

Alabama 30 - Georgia 16  "Have healthy respect for 11-1
Georgia, which has played physical football ever since it
was called "soft" by disgruntled SS Shawn Williams in
speech following 35-7 smashing at South Carolina in early October.  But SEC title game will decide Notre Dame's opponent for the coveted BCS crown.  That's bad news for UGA's record-breaking QB Murray (first SEC  QB to pass for more than 3,000 yds. in 3 straight seasons!), who still hasn't proven he can solve elite defenses as he completed a combined 23 of 55 for 259 yds., 4 ints. & only 1 TD vs. the Gamecocks & Gators TY.

With Tide's gifted frosh WR Cooper coming on strong and solid RB duo of Lacy & Yeldon (combined 1,848 YR & 24 TDs) providing balance, believe Bama's smooth, precise triggerman McCarron (67%, 25 TDs, only 2 picks) makes more plays vs. Dawg defense (d.c. Grantham is Saban disciple), which has faced precious few top-shelf passers all season (top QB foe has been Tennessee's Bray, who produced 44 pts.).  And, while Bama just lost 2nd leading WR Bell in 47-0 romp vs. Auburn, UGA also lost instrumental wide-out Brown to season ending injury in late October.  Note, Mark Richt's squard is only 1-7 as underdog since 2010, while Bama--which plays better away from home according to mastermind HC Saban--has won by 13 pts. or more in 27 of last 28 victories!"  TV--CBS

SEC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
(Georgia Dome, Atlanta, GA)

Posted Gold Sheet's excellent statistics on tough mactchup.  Two hours worth of work, and ten pages of information all rolled in two paragraphs!

Can't fault either teams few point spread losses:  Georgia's -13, -25, -32, and -41!  Or Alabama's -13.5, -31, -47 and -55!  But covered -34 vs. Auburn last week 49-0.  And both teams almost dead-even on offense and defense!

Alabama 6-0 vs. spread last 6 games on a neutral site.  Georgia 2-7 vs. spread last 9 games on neutral site.

Will continue to run with Alabama, but weekend games and upcoming college Super Bowls will be no easy picks!

Alabama minus 13 points over Georgia!

Game looks like a dead heat with each team loaded with talent on both sides fo the ball.  Edge on offense to UGA, edge on STs to Bama, and both defenses are nasty and pretty equal.  Biggest question is whether the Georgia OL can stop the penetration of the Tide front 7 to give Murray time to find receivers.  Georgia has excellent runners but I don't see them running it well against Alabama unless the passing game loosens the defense up.  Tude haven't had a great deal of sacks but Saban will bring the heat to attempt disrupting Murray like SC did but they have no Clowney.  I don't think they will get enough heat consistently and think the UGA passing game is the difference.  So close though that neither side should be surprised if the other wins.

Should be a 4 quarter game with the win being determined by one turnover, or bad call, or break.  In OT Bama would have the edge due to the kicker.

Too many points to give a team that averages 40 points a game, and a defense that has come alive and held their last 5 opponents to their lowest point total of the year.  I see this game as 27-23  but don't know who will make the play/mistake to determine who gets the 27.  Going to be a war, fun game to watch, get your popcorn..

Taking UGA and the points    Four unit play

You dont know much about Alabama or the Georgia Dome or how tickets are dispersed. Alabama fans travel heavy when the steaks are high and there are plenty of people from Atlanta that go to school at Alabama because of Georgia being a hard school to get accepted to. This is not a home game for Georgia. The game would have the same crowd if it was played in Miami, which it probably should be.

I posted up a week ago about Georgia and their soft schedule this year. With the exception of beating an offensively inept Florida team and being sodimized by South Carolina, they've done little to impress. I would also have more faith in Georgia if they had a better head coach. Mark Richt is not a big game coach, and definitely not one I can put money on. Alabama has played the tougher schedule, they have the better coach, and a QB that has proven to win when it counts. I'm going to take Alabama -7 and nothing more than -7. GLTA
