getting too old for this writing , and just havent had as much time but today i try. but i may be brief in some races.
race1 numbers are 3-7-8 ,a longer look at #3 where you will see scott stevens riding. not sure hes ever been to ny.
race2 the easy goer stakes .. using two numbers and both could be value.. #1 life in shambles ,who workouts with tonialist.. for rosario and clement. will be ok 3 yr old. and #6 no surrender who comes from chicago barn reavis who won at churchill with him as well. now in pletchers hands.
race3 the brooklyn 1 and 1/2 miles . im using 2 and 8 , ground transport for stidham and johnnny v who put them to sleep on the engine last time. should be in good spot again coming for home. #8 norumbega for shug i thought might be sitting on one. take a look at #5 ever rider who victor espinosa will ride the belmont distance, and remember the #6 golden soul last yrs kty derby runnerup and belmont flop.

race4 the jaipur the 6 furlong turf stakes. im using #4 upgrade for chad brown ,who is 28% on turf ,and castellano who is 28% as well. #10 marchman for calhoun.. done very well at a bunch of different turf courses and conditions. and how about #8 the 8 yr old gelding bens cat who never looks like hes gonna get there but does. never ran in ny so he could be vulnerable .thats your call.
race5 the woody stephens , using 1 bayern who lost all chance in preakness . bumped hard a few times. the 10 kobes back, good to see sadler and rosario together here, at maybe the distance that hits him squarely. and how about #11 social inclusion, who i personally feel he needs to be in better barn. worked wildly in 33 last week ,then next day washed out schooling in gate like in baltimore. if he gets it right someday he could be quite a horse.
race6 the acorn.. using two horses here.. #2 house rules who ran quite well in tough fla campaign. and the fav #8 my miss sophia who was no match for untapable in kty. she should handle these i think.

race7 the ogden phipps. the best fillies around. #1 close hatches for mott 7 ws in 10 starts. #5 beholder for mandella who just knows how to do it without over doing it. and #6 princess of sylmar for pletch. im using first two in my plays .. 1 and 5
race8 starts a pick4 the just a game on turf, using #5 , #6 and #9 would suggest using more. thought this race might provide value in all the exotics.
race9 the met mile .. enough speed to make this wild race but i landed on three numbers.. #1 palice malice who is really doing well as a 4 yr old. #4 golden cents.. off since a poor effort in cigar mile in ny in nov, o neill brings him back and brings smith with him. who isnt my fav jock but does win big races. #9 normandy invasion for brown and castellano , high expectations for this guy last yr and i m not sure he can run these guys down late but i dont want to let this combo beat me. and he fits the belmont oval i think.

race10 the manhattan 1 and 1 /4 on turf. what a race. #1 imagining for shug should get lead and has to be used. #5 boisterous, never runs a bad one. #8 real solution ,last yrs arl million winner who will be coming late for sure. #9 kaigun ,a canadian who has run a few good ones lately and runs late. #6 seek again for mott who tryed wise dan in kty and almost ... but this is longer and a speedier bunch, he could be vulnerable. imo.

race11 the belmont stakes.. not won on paper ,and none of the above will be either. so i suggest if you like someone to play him and not to be afraid of chrome... on one hand be very afraid but on the other ... he dont have value . and .. horseracing is about VALUE. mikey, funny cide and angry barber are a few who have ben on top of the race and i dont think any would suggest the fav. i will mention the ones im using in all my wagers, tris, supers which i will box. and pick4s where i will spread.
#2 california chrome. a poor break or bad luck could make it very difficult for him. and if victor misjudges the pace or when to push button. will know after a half if hes ok. but 1/5 im guessing ... is not gambling.the money part of it hopes he runs out or runs 2nd ,3rd ,or 4th. the human elements want him to win badly. thats the fans.
#4 commanding curve .. wasnt big fan, but i liked his works and he looks the part. cant take albarado .. but he should be rested and run late as alot will do here
#6 matuszak .. based on mott who knows the belmont and distance races, smith who wins big races and workouts in ny were above average .. hes in friendlier confines after balt races. he could be improving sort for gimmicks.
#8 commissioner . check mikey p and the angry barber for breeding stats. which tells alot in this distance. i kinda think his races in ark and the sunland derby were throwouts. hes back at home and the connections. are not idiots. im guessing and hoping hes out of gate about 4th or 5th and can sit and grind some of these guys down. . the knock is he hasnt beat anyone. im gambling he will be will be this summer.
#11 tonialist.. had issues in fla early in the year. very talented horse and looks to be versatile as well. needs to get over early from outside post and maybe sit. trainer rarely runs bad ones. he is slipping off his buzz status i think he had a few weeks ago after peter pan win. and his looks and works. much better if he goes off higher odds if you like him. i cant dismiss him.
ive passed on wicked strong and thats crazy. he looks so good i might add. but i already got albarado so i didnt want maragh as well. just a personal thing for me.. and i think he really needs it speedy.
ive also passed on ride on curlin, trainer still having a blast, gets a new jock today. a good one. but i cant use em all.
so the play would be 2-4-6-8-11 boxes in trifectas and exactas.

correction.. you see im getting old... bridgmohan rides #4 commanding curve in belmont .. not robbie albarado. good for me. albarado rides #1 medal count who will probably beat me .. best of luck today..

Great stuff Phil. Heading to AP for today's racing.
Look at the Purple Violet R9, $100,000 at AP....Favorite Pistols Drawn is the goods. However, I will paly against as we might get a decent price (5-1) on #7 Cabana.
On paper, Cabana has a lot going against her; no synthetic, not even a work on it, but she coming out of much better company than these at CD and OP.
Most of all, she has Emigh aboard, and he is on a mission in big purse affairs right now. Plus, Donnie von Hemel is one of the best spotters around.
