Duke this year has been up and down. Expected from a young team that is developing and has very limited contribution from the bench. After 3 straight losses Duke was able to muster a big road win two days ago against in state rival NC St after being down at halftime. It was a much need morale booting win for the Blue Devils. Duke is led by one of the best PG in the nation Grayson Allen. The kid is very efficient shooting the rock at 65% from the field in ACC play. Duke overall offensively has been a juggernaut. They rarely turnover the ball, they hit the offensive glass very well, they shoot 38% from the 3 point line and 54% from inside the arc. They also get to the line frequently and shoot it 72%. So as you see they have been an exceptional offensive team. Defensively there have been some issues. They allow way too many 2nd chance opportunities from opponents as they do not clean up the defensive glass very well and their perimeter defense has been piss poor allowing opponents to shoot 36%.
Miami recently got two cupcake wins over cellar dweller Boston College and Wake Forest. This was after the Canes dropped two games to tough competition away. Miami this year has been getting it done behind a very stout defense. Limiting opponents to shooting 45% from the field while cleaning up the defensive glass fantastically. Offensively they have also been very solid, shooting the ball 54% from the field, limiting turnovers and getting to the charity stripe shooting it at 75%. Recently however in ACC play the Miami offense has struggled a bit putting the rock in the hoop. Especially from downtown shooting it only 27%, while they have also been hit with turnover bug.
Tonight is truly a tough spot for the Blue Devils. They just played two days ago and had to catch a flight to play in Miami tonight. All their starters played over 30 minutes with 2 playing 39 minutes. I know these are young kids but this is really a tough spot to go into Miami a team that will be in your face all night defensively. Yes Miami also played two days ago but it was a nice and easy win, they did not have to travel and are at home in front of their fans. Miami will also be able to control the potent Duke offense tonight and being at home I see them shooting the ball a little better. The Blue Devils are not the tightest defensive team so there should be plenty of space for the Canes to operate and when they miss the Miami bigs will have success getting offensive rebounds. Guys no question I expect coach K will have his boys ready to play however this is too much to expect a thin and inexperienced Duke to pull out a road win here. Miami behind its experience and its defensive tenacity will get the W here. Therefore I will be on the U.

Check stats here on totals sir, trend alert Miami under 7-1 last 8 ACC CONFERENCE GAMES. I WAS LEANING THERE TOO. NOT GONNA PLAY IT. YOU WANT AN OVER PLAY, Oakland at Wisc Milwaukee 162.5. Oakland is 3rd in Nation scoring offense. Avg 86.7 AWAY!!! Wisc Milwaukee avgs 86.6 at home. That is,173.3 points. 10.8 point differential warrants an over play for me! 1 unit. Just a feel play. Oakland scored 111 at Wisconisin GBay saturday.
