Marq -1.5
Just saw this line come out and I think this is the best line ive seen all tournament. I have watched both these teams a fair amount this year, and from the "eye test" I absolutley LOVE Marquette in this game. The teams play a very similar style of ball, I think Marquette plays it better though. They have two players that are tough as they come and they just flat out make things happen in DJO and J Crowder. Florida at home is a different story and I might even give them an edge if this game were in Florida. But its not, and Marq is a better team all-around. They are relentless and physical for a small team. Crowder can handle Floridas big inside, and nobody on thre Gators (or in the country) can guard him. I think this line will be at -3 by gametime and getting it at -1.5 seems great to me. If the Gators aren't knocking down shots (which they can) at a high rate then they are in deep garbage. Florida won';t run Marq out of the gym by any means, and they will have a difficult time guarding Marq's unique style. Florida has played 2 cupcake games so far, this game will be tough for them to win....Marq by 7. Get some!! Thoughts welcome.. |

#3 Posted: 3/19/2012 4:27:29 PM I dont know, I didnt make the "Line"...Why was the Duke line 11, why was the NC State/gtown line +4.5, why was the Mizz/norfolk line 21??? catch my drift? Sometimes the lines don't work out, all they give a garbage about is getting equal betting on both sides....I just think Marq is the better team here. Look at their records and their ats records as well. |

#4 Posted: 3/19/2012 5:00:40 PM Really like Marquette -1.5 here...Florida doesnt have anyone who can handle Crowder. Have Marquette in a future to win it all @ 61:1 but will be on them at -1.5 too. Hope they win |

#5 Posted: 3/19/2012 5:07:33 PM I have watch this horrible Florida team limp into the postseason. They are terrible on the road and have had some easy matchups in the first 2 rounds. Marquette will win this game by 7 or more IMO.

#7 Posted: 3/19/2012 6:26:25 PM It's priced incorrectly based on public perceptions. It's a number chosen by the oddsmaker that he feels will encourage an equal number of people to wager on the underdog and the favorite, it has nothing to do with which team is better or supposed to win the game, they want action either both ways or heavy one sided and to win. Probably based on the fact that Florida is coming off a sledgehammering of Norfolk st, they figure an asspounding like that is fresh in the publics mind and will be viewed as good line value. |

#9 Posted: 3/19/2012 6:54:00 PM That's why everybody win plenty $$ at this garbage, because they make the lines so easy. Don't be fooled, Gators are deeper, will press relentlessly & Billy may be best gameday coach out there. What happens when Crowder gets in foul trouble? Don't think Billy wont go at him early and often.
I'm not saying the Gators win, I'm just saying the line is sharp...so don't bet the house.

#10 Posted: 3/19/2012 7:27:32 PM Patric Young can bang with Crowder and Florida wasnt a preseason top 8 for no reason....They are a legit contender that is peaking at the right time. Bradley Beal is finally starting to figure his game out and that is bad news for this team. |

Not for nothing but do you really think that Donovan is the only coach with the Master plan of "lets go at Crowder early and often and get in in foul trouble" ???? Please. The kid averaged 18 and 9 alll year, ovbiously he knows how to play D without getting in foul trouble, he picks up a ton of steals....and why is the "press" of florida going to bother a fast, guard oriented marquette team who likes to shoot 3's and run??? I'm sure they have seen a press before my man |

#12 Posted: 3/19/2012 7:30:48 PM Love, Love, Love Marq here. Florida played a depleted Virginia team and Norfolk State. Lots of value with Marquette. Line will be 3 by game time. |

A preseason top 8 that received a 7 seed because they cannot play on the road....they are peaking?? then why didn't they win the SEC tournament? or are they peaking because they beat Virginia and Norfolk St??? |

#15 Posted: 3/19/2012 8:45:09 PM I Love Florida here...They have a couple 6"9 ers who can bang. They can run with Marquette (most teams in the Big East cant) They are better shooters than Marquette...Just think Florida is a more well rounded team and will be a problem for Marquette. Also love Cuse Cincy and Tar Heels

I hear ya with the big guys but I just feel like Marq does not play a traditional style, they que matchup problems for teams. Who is going to guard DJO? he has such a size/strength/length advantage on the gator guards. I think Crowder will pull young outside and that will give them even more of a rebounding edge than they already have. UF has 6'9 guys but they are soft, they are 135th in rebounding. I also like cincy and cuse....and I like NC State, just feel like they have something going |

#19 Posted: 3/20/2012 12:01:20 AM Actually crowder had several games he was in foul trouble when they played good teams...... And the guard oriented team had a shot ton of problems against louisvilles press about 2 weeks ago..... Not that Florida is better than Louisville but they are a garbage ton more athletic. People are so stupid when the blinders on.... All that said Marquette is better and should win but it's all about DJO |

If you have watched them play the last 3 games closely, they are playing the way they were capable at the beginning of the season finally. At the best time to do it, I don't care how bad a team like NSU is, you have to be good yourself to beat someone by almost 40 in this tournament. |

#21 Posted: 3/20/2012 1:41:01 AM The issue is not whether Young can "bang inside" with Crowder...it is what will UF do once Crowder goes out and starts nailing 3s? Take Young out of the paint and onto the perimeter and Marquette is going to live in the paint.
Crowder and Draymond Green are the biggest matchup problems in this entire tournament, and it's why they will meet each other in the E8 on Saturday. |

#22 Posted: 3/20/2012 2:15:23 AM even though florida face easy team but they dominate and destroy the team. It wasn't a close game at all in their games...so florida is riding high right now and if they keep playing like how they are so far...kinda tough to go against them...

#23 Posted: 3/20/2012 2:23:05 AM P. Young will not be put on Crowder. He will be put on Gardner and Wilson. Marquette for most of the year had to play with a smaller lineup with wilson being center when he was in because of injuries to gardner and otule. But now since we have depth at the center position crowder plays the 4 not center. Occasionally buzz may go small but not for a significant amount of time. If cadougan can limit his turn overs from the press then marquette has a great shot at winning this game. The team with the least amount of turnovers will win this game. If marquette is willing to attack the paint rather than settling for outside shots, then they will win. I think they cover because they have been playing a very aggressive style of ball this tourney and i hope it carries over to the florida game. |
