First off let me start off saying that I follow the NEC very closely and am 5-1 so far ATS in the conference tourney going 2-0 on Sunday in the semis. Having said that I really went back and forth with which way to go tonight, I have finalized my play but regardless it will not be a big one.
I can't believe how much disrespect this LIU team has got from the vegas odds makers and sharps so far in this tourney. The first round game they opened at a 9 point fav against eight seeded Sacred Heart which dropped 3 points to 6 before tip off. The Blackbirds proceeded to beat SH handily by 12 easily covering. The semi game line movement made absolutely no sense to me opening at 3 and moving 3 points again towards Qunnipiac to close at a pick. How the #5 seed playing on the road aganst a team that hadn't lost at home in 25 games closed at a pick seemed inconceivable to me so I pounded LIU (usually i hate going against that type of line movement). I got that Quinn presented a match up problem down low and did look scary when they went up 6 in the 2nd half but LIU pulled away and if not for a meaningless 3 at the buzzer would have won by 6 however they did not cover the opening line but covered the pick for me. This team has really dominated the NEC for two straight years, their RPI isn't as good as RMU or Wagner b/c for whatever reason don't play as well in the non conference slate with questionable losses to teams like Hofstra and Colombia. However one thing is for sure they know how to beat teams in the NEC espcially at home. Julian Boyd and Jamal Olasewere are about as talented and athletic of wing players you will find in a league like the NEC and Boyd was the POY. If Brickman can control the game and if Culpo can provide any contribution from the outside they will not lose this game at home.
Robert Morris is definitely a program of consistancy having been in this title game now 4 straight years. They had won 2 in a row before falling in OT to this same LIU team last year in a great game. Two years ago they almost knocked off Villanova in the first round and just think how good they would be if their best player Karon Abraham was playing instead of being suspended for the year. Anyway this team ended LIU's long NEC winning streak in beating them at home going awaay last month. They have some nice non conference wins including at Ohio and vs LaSalle which is why their RPI is higher. Velton Jones is awesome, pure and simple and a big game player. I also love their freshman Lucky Jones from St Anthonlys coming off the bench, both are winners. O'Toole is a great young coach as well who I am sure will use RMU as a stepping stone similiar to Mike Rice to get a bigger job in the near future.
As I said earlier this game is tough but I am rolling with LIU catching 1.5 points at home where they haven't lost in a long long time. This should be a great game and just as an FYI the NEC is going to be really good next year. Both of these teams have basically their whole teams back next year and Wagner does as well and will welcome Mr. Basketball from Michigan in Duwan Anderson to their team next year. All 3 will def have 20+ wins again next year and they tourney will be great again.

when you got over 75% of action coming in on liu--1 and the line goes to r.morris -1 1/2 and action still pouring in on liu it's TIME TO LOAD UP ON ROBERT MORRIS!

crazy, trust me I am all about sharp line movement like is happening in this game usually but it happened in LIU's previous 2 tourney games and they still won and covered. LIke I said LIU has dominated the NEC the last two years but they doesn't mean they can't lose tonight to a good RMU squad.

if i could get a possession guaruntee out of it i'll be all over it seeing this one all but certainly coming down to last shot. 2.5 will probdo the trick though. still debating it at 2
