#1 Posted: 3/21/2010 8:09:23 PM 3-2 Sunday (-10 Units) Wow lost my two big bets in the final seconds of both games. Defeat tastes so sour, but it motivates me. Still +85 some Units on the year, and still have ammo to make some moves. We shall see what next weekend brings our way
REGULAR SEASON FINAL RECORD: 125-93 YTD (+97.5 Units) (57.3%) 15-13 on ML Parlays 17-8 2nd Half Plays 4-2 on pounder bets (10+ Unit bets)
NCAA Tourney Record: 11-12 YTD (-9.5 Units) (47.8%) 1-2 2nd Half Bets 0-2 ML Parlays 1-2 on Pounder Bets (10+ Unit Bets)
Still up 88 Units on the Year, and I need to focus on that. Sunday was tough, but you got to move forward and stay clear minded.
Leans for Sweet 16:
Baylor -3.5 Cornell +9 Tennessee +4.5 Duke -?

Could not agree more about The Sandman. He is special and has proven that in the tournament thus far, but Udoh has such length. That fade away J might be real tough for him to get off. Baylor just has too much size all across the front line with Acy and Lomers as well. |

#8 Posted: 3/21/2010 11:08:33 PM Ya I feel you, it was just a bummer as Im sitting here in my suite at the encore knowing this whole trip could have been free if that game had gone the other way. On to the next like I said. I am really liking Tenn +5, KSU - 4, and Baylor -3 or 3.5 depending on whether I buy the hook. Any thoughts?

I'm liking Tennessee, but I think I like Baylor the most of all the 3rd Round games. KSU has been playing well, but Xavier has is a tough team to be giving 4.5 points to. I will wait till later in the week before I pull the trigger on anything. |

I made the mistake of going against Izzo last round, and MSU played well without Lucas until the final 3 minutes of the 2nd Half. Lucious has to have a ton of confidence after hitting that game winner, and I think there is some good value with Sparty -1.5. So far the leans that stand out to me are Xavier +5 and Washington +5. I also like Baylor to win, but I think I'm going to do a ML parlay with them and Duke. The Baylor game will come down to how SMC is shooting from the outside. Samhan will definitely face the best interior defender he has seen all year (Udoh) and I think the length and athleticism for Baylor should prevail. Oh yea, I'm also really liking Big Red +9. They easily dismantled two very strong defenses in Temple and Wisky. This team runs such an efficient offense and they will definitely be in this game if they are hitting from beyond the arc. I have been riding the Kentucky train most of the year and had them in the 1st two rounds. Cornell is full of Seniors and they will not be afraid of the 'Cats in this one. I have Kentucky winning it all, but I don't think I'm going to pass on Big Red +9, as I can see them beating Kentucky SU in a tight game throughout. The Over 147 should be a decent bet in this game, but I hate betting full game totals.
Updated Leans for Sweet 16:
Cornell +9 (strong lean) Washington +5 Xavier +5 (strong lean, X-men so undervalued) Baylor -4 MSU -1.5

#14 Posted: 3/23/2010 12:41:46 PM Xavier's losses are all to good teams. With the exception of one loss to dayton. They are definitely solid.
Looks like vegas is backing MSU baiting people onto the UNI train. I like Izzo here, Lucas or not
Cornell. Although I have had KY all the way since about mid-Jan, 9 points is a healthy amount of points for a team that is as solid as Cornell. I'm surprised early betting is still in KY favor....

#15 Posted: 3/23/2010 4:32:23 PM 1st Plays for Sweet 16:
Parlay- Duke ML and Baylor ML (5.3U pays 5U) Cornell +9 (3 Units) Saw this drop to 8.5 some places, I really think Cornell plays them tough. If they hang with the 'Cats long enough, the youngsters may start to panic.
Other Leans:
Xavier +5 (could still go up, really liking it though) Washington +5.5 (keep on climbing ) MSU -1.5 Baylor -4

#17 Posted: 3/23/2010 4:46:51 PM Curious as to why you think Xavier will be able to hang tough with KState. I thought Pitt was greatly over seeded and although I had Xavier in this exact matchup this round, I think they get rolled by KState. I locked this play in right when it came out at KSU -4 (thankfully so) but I was just curious for your reasoning behind this game. Again, I am not discrediting this team at all but I just dont see it happening for them against a tough, fast, and physical KState squad.
Any thoughts on the Tenn OSU game? I locked in at Tenn +5 but am beginning to 2nd guess my play and may just buy off it and take my $25 loss on the juice. Game sims are loving OSU in a steam roll but I really like this Tenn sqaud and they seem to get up for games against the truly elite competition (impressive wins over Kansas and Kentucky)

#19 Posted: 3/24/2010 4:08:33 PM Adding:
Spratans -1 (2 Units) Spartans are coming off a crazy victory, in which Summers and Morgan dominated. Lucious had a heroic buzzer-beater to save the season, and now this team can sniff the final four. Izzo is a superb coach, especially in March. His Spartans will find a way to win a close game yet again. (I Will be rooting heavily for UNI, so I'm keeping this play small, but Sparty -1 is too valuable to pass up here.)
Xavier +4.5 (2 Units) I missed getting this at 5 yesterday, as I thought it may go higher, but I still think the X-men are the correct side in this one. These teams are very similar, as they both play strong defense, rebound well, and get balanced offensive production from their front and backcourts. They met earlier in the year @ KSU and the Wildcats won 71-56. This game was played back in December, and means absolutely nothing as far as this game is concerned. I see a back and forth game that will be decided in last couple of possessions.
Updated Card: Parlay- Duke ML and Baylor ML (5.3U pays 5U) Cornell +9 (3 Units) Xavier +4.5 (2 Units) Spratans -1 (2 Units) |
