You want to know why the Cats snuck their way into the tournament in spite of a sluggish ending to their season.  No it had nothing to do with quality wins, record against top 50 RPI teams or anything of the like.  Vegas campaigned for their inclusion with the selection commitee solely so they could make a killing of this game, that's why.         
 
Here is what you will hear all week about why Arizona wins this game:
 
1.  This team has two lottery picks.
 
2.  This team has the talent to make the sweet sixteen or elite eight.
 
3.  This team hasn't peaked yet.
 
4.  Chase Budinger, Jordan Hill, Chase Budinger, Jordan Hill, Chase Budinger, Jordan Hill, Chase Budinger, Jordan Hill.
 
And this will be the result:
 
Be careful people this is setting up as a bloodbath.  Utah is a very skilled team.  Their Aussie big man Luke Nevill will control things down low.  Jordan Hill is not equipped to guard him, he's a natural poward foward.  If he gets into any sort of foul trouble the Cats are toast as they have no depth off the bench, espcially with their bigs. 
 
I like the Utes here big.

i wish this game was byu against arizona like it should have been lets put it that way.  they messed up the seedings on the 2 teams.

byu and utah are the 2 seedings that should be reversed.

Arizona looks like a nice team with Hill and Budinger as centerpieces, but they really never seem to be able to put it all together.  The sum of the parts is greater than the whole if you will.  Just because they have a few players that will be good in the NBA doesn't mean anything. 
 
Don't be fooled by these Cats thinking because they snuck in now they're out prove themselves to everyone.  They just ain't that good and they get way too much pub and attention because of they're name.

im not so sure how the 12 seed being favored over the 5 seed can be considered a sucker bet no matter what the situation though.

i'll feel like the sucker if i lose, but yes, thank you very much for the extra 1.5 pts i'll take the 5 seeded utes over the 12 seed who sucks on the road.

it was amusing to me how the espn idiots duke vitale and digger the drunk especially, said arizona shouldnt be in the tourney then promptly put them in the sweet 16.

ive watch a few utah games now and i dunno how u say that they are a very skilled team...  nevill is good yes but he has no stamina and he hasn' t faced and succedded against any sort of equally skilled big man.. their "pg" drca is foundamentally sound but does ntohing special.. borha is garbage.. i dunno how this team got a 5... i know zona is inconsistent, but if they play any sort of tight d they will win

I think Las Vegas pays Dick Vitale and Digger Phelps to say those things, like how they pay off refs.  I do think this is a sucker bet, since they always say how a 12 seed always beats a 5.

i kinda just think they really dont know and only watch the games they are assigned duke vitale especially, digger at least is in the studio sometimes vitale never.

You're right they aren't skilled, that's an exageration on my part.

But Arizona is a fraud.

I'm a Zona fan, and they will lose or go to the elite 8....so I'm gonna say lose 1st round

Arizona's recent tourney history suggests that they might be one and done, but those losses were against Purdue and West Virginia the last two years. They beat up UNLV and San Diego St this year, by 15 and 21, who play in the MWC as well. That has to weigh on bettors minds when making a play on this game.

yes,Zona lost by 15 at UNLV dec 20th,and they have lost 5 of their last 6,, I dont recall to many getting in the dance losing 5 of the last 6.

the thing i hate most about this game is that arizona doesnt even deserve to be there and they get a huge break as a 12 seed playing a team that should be a 7 or 8 seed

Value, I respectfully disagree.
Yes, Arizona is a horrendous road team.
But, keep in mind fellas.... this is not a road game - it's a neutral site.

Arizona has beaten Gonzaga, Kansas, UCLA, and Washington. What makes you think they can't beat Utah??

Yes, I'm an AZ alumn - so take it with a grain of salt - but AZ is out to prove that they deserve that bid.

Unlv got robbed of that bid.  They won 21 games, had a winning conf record, beat louisville without wink adams playing and beat zona who lost 5 of their last 6.  Makes no fucking sense.

True but not happening in this game.  Western Kentucky should take care of that by beating the Illini.

If Chase Budinger is so good, why is he the only McDonald's All American from that heralded Arizona class still in College?  All the other guys are getting paid...

Arizona is in the tourney for one reason and one reason only.  They showed throughout the year that they can beat teams with better talent.  Isn't that what everyone wants to see?  A double digit team making it passed the first round or two.  I think Zona rolls here.  Motivation will not be a problem for this team and Utah will get cold feet when they start questioning themselves, "Maybe we don't deserve to be here."
