Pospisil basically played two games on Saturday, continuation of one game and then the Gasquet match went three sets. Raonic definitely the fresher of the two, plus add in that booming serve, Roanic in straight sets.

Pospisil showing off his enormous potential yet again after struggling with constant back problems this season. Form really came out of nowhere picking up some high quality wins over Berdych, Giraldo, and Gasquet. Not worried about fatigue at all, he went through a similar week last year winning the Vancouver Challenger with 3 matches in 2 days and then did quite well the following week in Montreal.
Have to lean to Raonic as he's the more reliable of the two mentally and on the court with his play. Has a smaller margin of error with his game and serve. It's a very efficient style for him, not a lot of fun to watch though. Pospisil has a higher peak to me but he's so up and down with his groundstrokes at times, it's frustrating to watch and bet on. He actually owns the h2h 3-2 over Raonic but those 3 wins were from when they were still working their way onto the challenger tour.
Pospisil's range and deceptive speed is what allows him to trouble opposing big hitters like Berdych, Isner, and Raonic. He forces them into hitting closer to the lines and in this case, any medium-long rallies exposes Milos' mobility. Shots that are usually winners against smaller opponents he's able to get back and extend the rallies where his baseline game can hang with just about anyone on tour. Still, I don't think Vasek can maintain his composure throughout the match to win this yet. Hoping he can stay healthy and work on his consistency and mental game cause he's got every shot needed to be a world class player.

They lunch up on him during the service game, and then he just blows them off the court. He has a wild swinging armed forehand and he gets breaks if he can get them to hit to this side but I have been betting the crap out of Raonic over 9.5 games in sets and they have mostly been hitting.
I like over 9.5 games first set and possibly some overs. Pospisil is playing like a desperate teenager to get his first ever big singles title (could be wrong if it is his first).
Thinking Raonic/Serena ML parley- not bad. I think both win.

bleakhouse, your right in thinking that vasek wants this win moreso than any regular title game. its the battle of canada and its a record game for Canadian tennis. I am pounding over 22 games. You can always count on raonic to win some games with that serve and I reckon that vasek will make him work for it on roanic break games

Pospisil +3.5 games is the best bet on the board. Raonic return game has been crappy all tournament long. He's been relying a lot on tiebreaks. I don't see Raonic breaking Pospisil twice in a set. If Raonic wins, it will be a very close 7-6 7-5 type win. Pospsil is not scared of Raonic at all, mentally he knows that he can beat his fellow Canadian.
