Locked and loaded for tomorrow's games, treading lightly in the NFL because it's week 1. Wrote down what the lines should be in my opinion and bet on any disparity's that I saw were big enough, small write-up for each.....
Fulham shouldn't be laying juice, at least not this much, to anyone right now. They're busy juggling Europa League with the Premiership and have not been too convincing in England so far. 1 goal in 3 games (against average to subpar opponents) is not too scary of an opponent. Until they show some ability in the final third, I have no problem playing against them. Blackburn, on the other hand, are going to get relegated. I know this. But, they haven't been that terrible thus far other than converting their chances. They outplayed Everton last week but came away with nothing, that will be their problem this season. However, they've scored in 2 of their 3 matches (2 missed PKs in their scoreless game) and I have enough confidence in them to nick a goal away here. I see a 1-1 final, Dempsey and Hoilett with goals.
How can anyone justify the Browns laying 6 points to anyone in the NFL, much less a division opponent? I just don't see how this line is accurate, there's value with Cincy no matter how bad you may think they are. The parity in this league is unmatched so I can't pass up this price against another subpar team.
My thoughts on the Browns are pretty similar to the Cardinals, I don't get it. Again, a bad team against a worse team, but at this price I have to take a stab because I am not sold on the Cards at all this year. My thoughts on the Panthers are obvious as I have futures on them, but I think with their run game and defense they will compete in a decent amount of games this season.
Tampa Bay is a better team than Detroit. All of this offseason hype for the Lions, while maybe warranted, is just that -- hype. I think they are an improving team but they are not a playoff team, not at all. The Bucs were the surprise team of last year and while I'm expecting an 8-8 type of season, I think the price is right here for them. They should be laying at least 3 points being at home against a slightly lesser team.
As a Skins fan, I hate to say it, but the Cowgirls are scary this season. I thought Garrett did a pretty good job considering his situation last year and I really think he'll be competing for the division title this year. The Jets are also an elite team in the NFL, no doubt about it. But, I can't say that they are clearly better than the Cowboys and worthy of laying 5 or 6 points. I have to take the value in the dog here.
