Uruguay/Holland....???

...for the International Friendly game on wendnesday, these 2 teams seem SO EVENLY MATCHED.....anyone have anything to point-out, as-to ANY "advantageous angle" to-use, in handicapping a semi-intelligent bet ???

With that being said, don't see how anyone could back Holland, they've drawn their past 5 away friendlies and don't expect to see a great performance out of them tomorrow either.  I'd say if you HAD to pick a side it'd be Uruguay.

The better question is who is expected to play?  Uruguay was brilliant defensively in WC, and was basically Forlan playing out of his fucking mind on offense.  Holland has the better attack if Sneijder, VanPers & Kuyt are playing.

van der vaart, van bommel, sneijder, and stecklenberg are not making the trip, and Uruguay wants revenge for their world cup loss and is fully stocked (cavani, suarez, forlan) with their scorers as well as Maxi Pereria. Elia and Affelay could provide a spark given their youth and motivation to perform well in this friendly

Rafael van der Vaart, Wesley Sneijder, Mark van Bommel, Demy de Zeeuw, Theo Janssen, Michel Vorm and Maarten Stekelenburg have all stayed behind in Holland.

Kuyt and Van Persie are not in the probable starting lineup, and they are supposed to be using their backup goalie who debuted last match against Brazil (0-0 draw).  I'd expect Kuyt and Van Persie to sub in if they do not start. 

Uruguay has everyone available and the big guns are all in the probable 11.

Well it makes the answer easy then, either Draw or Uruguay.  Kuyt doesn't scare me as much without the play making of a solid midfielder...and obviously not scared if both are only gonna get in the game at the 70min mark or something.

Uruguay will be keen to get a good result against Netherlands after their World Cup semi-final loss last year, but it will not be easy for the Charruas. They start the match as favourites as they are in full preparation for the Copa America, whereas Oranje's season is already over. Their recent record against European opposition is far from impressive though, while the Dutch have not lost a single game since their defeat against Spain in July 2010.

Put $1300 on Uruguay @ +150 and you win $1,950.

If either hits you win $950

Basically makes this wager -242 by taking both sides (risking $2,300 to make $950)

If The Netherlands wins, you lose....

IMO, The Netherlands will be on a vacation and Uruguay will be playing to win at home. The Netherlands are without many players and it is a friendly.

Anyone watching this live? My score shows 0-0 still but I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea about how these two squads look, anyone getting legit scoring opportunities, etc.

I'm watching.  1st Half was fairly even.  Uruguay had more clean shots...They actually scored a goal, and really surprised it got called back for off sides...especially on their home turf...it may have been a matter of inches.

Holland had a legit chance at the end, their first shot that reached the goalie...and he made a great 1 vs 1 save.  Every other shot to this point, has been blocked pretty cleanly by the defense.

Also, Kuyt & VanPers started...when they were expected to come in as substitutes...could be a sign that they will be yanked sometime in the 2nd half.

I have money on Uruguay ML, and still confident they win this just based on watching the 1st.

Fantastic, thanks for the update Brick.... anything you could give me is great as I'm at work and dont have access to any sort of streaming updates other than a box score.

I'll join you in Barbs In-Game...still 25-30mins before the Giants game...so gonna be watching this intently as Uruguay ML is the 2nd in a 3-teamer that Minnesota started off for me
