I was telling others during the world cup this year that I believe that Qatar's World Cup bid was the best I've ever heard of and will change the face of how big sporting events will be handled from now on....
Stadiums that can be relocated was the first step and now it seems that they've gotten to the FIFA delegates
Now it looks like England has screwed itself through the media and Russia will end up with 2018!!!!
DEC 2nd is the date but I think it's already done....

Would be a disgrace if England didn't get it in 2018. Qatar would be cool in 2022, I guess, but I wouldn't mind USA getting it again either. Are you saying Dec. 2nd is the day they announce who is hosting?

I think Russia and Qatar get it but w' all the corruption charges we'll see how this turns out. Maybe they get scared and just bow to England in 2018 or maybe they become enraged at all the finger pointing and poking around and slap them in the face?
I'm really excited for this draw and it's the first time they'll be giving away 2 world cups on the same day! I'm really up in the air but I think that Spain/Portugal have no shot (economy/dual bid) while I pray Qatar gets it just so I can see a place build a stadium, break it apart and move/sell it to another country. It will be epic the only thing that's killing Qatar's bid is heat and realitive small size of the country (most of the games would be held withing 20 miles of each other)

Russia now the favourites for the bid at a best priced -110 with Bodog
England out to +300 no doubt influenced by the Panorama documentary on FIFA corruption last night.I think England is the value bet as they have most of the stadia already built, they will make the most money for FIFA by far (which is what FIFA is really interested in) Spain & Portugal can be ruled out as the rest of the Euro zone would end up paying for it Belgium/Holland won't get enough support from the FIFA executives voting
As for 2022 I think Australia and the US would be the best choices at +300 and +600 respectively.Qatar is too hot during the Summer and the country is really too small as a whole for a major sporting event.Would also be faced with a diplomatic headache if Israel qualified for the tournament. There was concerns about the weather in Australia (Aussie winter in June/July) and the use of the stadia for Rugby games during the Summer. I think the States deserves another shot at hosting as football has gotten a lot bigger and more popular over there than in 1994.It's too soon for Japan & Korea after 2002 to rehost the tournament I think.
I'll probably back England and the USA
to anyone having a punt on this over the next couple of days

I want Qatar only b'c of the technology used in the bid. They will be using the same type of material Bejing used for the swimming complex to keep the stadium cool. But your above issues present problems for them.
Fifa cares about $ above all else but as is evident by the choice of South Africa Sepp Blatter is trying to put his legacy in front of that by bringing the Cup to parts of the world few thought it would see. For that reason I like Russia and Qatar plus we've heard of rumblings for too long of how officials switch votes for one another...

Word on the street that it was Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022 (Qatar delegates seen shaking hands jubilantly), but the announcement has now been delayed 30 minutes.

This is going to change the way the world does sporting events PERIOD and I'm sure that was the reason they choose it over the USA (which would have given FIFA more $) also the Millions of dollars the probably got in under the table money for themselves didn't hurt either. I'm sure some oil money is going to Sepp and the others
I'm beyond thrilled and I'll be in Qatar but before that I'm going to Brazil!!!! 2014 here I come!!!!

You have to love the irony that on a day Russia is awarded the World Cup there President threatens to build up its nuclear forces if the USA doesnt ratify a new arms reduction treaty.
I thought Fifa was all about piece and fair play and here you have this douche trying to drum up the cold war again. It was no mistake that he wasnt at the anouncement today.

imho the reasons why russia and qatar got the cups are: next vote on blatters chair is in may 2011 already. now blatter has the electors from east europe and russia in his boat, these have together 2 dozens of votes.thats a lot in that vote. and who wanted to run for office against blatter? right, the boss of the asian section, which comes from doha in qatar.he wont be running against blatter now anymore, a lot of money can be made with the bribe cash in qatar, for the stadium constructions etc. this organization could easily fit into the sopranos world.
