Unless its about something important like TV? Just kidding (kinda).
I don't watch any sitcoms or dramas and I'm not exaggerating, therefore the strike means nothing to me. Although, just for the record, I'm pro-union.

Not sure I am naive about the sublect, but if that's your observation than so be it....
I believe that the writers are the people pushing these new shows in front of the Executives....The writers claim that they can write a show about Cavemen let's say and then they prop this idea in front of the Executives and they either okay it or not.....The Executives are not coming up with the idea about a show about Cavemen......At that point the writers and producers of the production need to make it sucessful not the Execs........That starts with the writting.........
Let's be honest, are the TV vierwers watching shows beacause they are safe and non-offensive.....I don't think so........Of course the Execs. want to sell ad time, that generates revenue and must always be in the forefront........This is one of their main objectives......Sell ads........Ads will be sold if the airtime it falls under is good or decent TV.......In that case the ads pretty much sell themselves......Take the show Lost for instance......Damn good show, very popular, good writing, good producing and an influx of commercial ads......All good in TV land with this show.......
I use this Cavemen show as to set an example....They took what was a great idea for a commercial ad and tried to make a sitcom out of it.......Now which ever Exec. okayed that project is an idiot, but I'm sure the writers or creator of the show sold it to them well and right now is failing miserably.....This show will be cut along with several others........
Are the writers really giving Executives what they want? I'm not sure either of us can determine the validity of that.....It's about the public viewing and not what Executives like...........If the writing of these shows was better then they might have a chance to make it, but it seems as though the entire concept is wrong......
I think most of us can best see this example with Saturday Night Live.....This used to be a show that set the foundation for great writing not good or average writing......They had the beset of the best on there show in it's peak, but we can all admit that this show is going or has gone down hill.....SNL is an icon in the entertainment industry and they are struggling right now big time........Why?.....Writing Writing, Writing..............
The writers nowadays are pathetic........Thus introducing the era of reality TV........You don't have to like, but it's the truth......People like reality shit........Americon Idol, Survivor, Amazing Race and Who Want's To Be A Millonare are all shows that have now been on for the last 7-10 years or so.........Why?.......The public likes it.........
Here's my last point about this........I could find a shit load of people that want to watch hair on my ass grow than those who want to watch another damn episode of Cavemen...............
