Has anyone ever wondered where the Las Vegas handicappers are? I mean...Where do they live/ hangout? Where do you see them? What do they do in the day hours and where?
Always hear about vegas handicappers setting lines etc.
Where do they do it? "physically"? In an office located somewhere in vegas? Sitting in a sportsbook? Where?
I hear all these stories about vegas handicappers but have never seen one nor heard of where a common joe actually couold run into these guys..

Initial lines are now set by offshore books - particularly CRIS. Then they allow privileged few to bet early lines, so they can learn the sharp angle. Then they are released to the public, then Vegas books take their numbers and roll with it.

You need to get this through your skull - If anybody or any group of people can pick games well enough to beat the odds, they are professional gamblers. And yes they do exist. Those that sell their "picks" otherwise known as "touts" are not any good at what they purport to be.
But there is a fool born everyday. If you think the picks are worth buying go for it.

Your question makes it sound like there's some professional sports gamblers club in Vegas and they all meet up somewhere to hang out. There's no special place, it's like asking......where do all restaurant managers hang out? Where can I see them?
The only ones who have an office are the ones that sell picks. The real professionals work out of their home and either make their plays online, have runners for various books or they lay down their own plays at certain books.
If you hung out at a sports book all day long during a busy sports betting day, Im sure you'd run into some of them. But you'd probably have no idea if you did.

I am no expert, but I would guess anyone who makes a living doing this treats it like a regular, full time job. They don't just get up, have their coffee, peruse the lines for that day, and make their picks in a matter of minutes. There is a lot of buying and selling of positions....a lot of line shopping.
Like I said, I'm no expert, but I knew of someone who day traded for about 2 years and it sounds very similar. You are constantly monitoring numbers and you exploit every edge possible.
