I was in Rainbow Foods today picking up a few groceries.  Got in line at the "do it yourself check-out line."  There was some dumb broad trying to have a conversation on her cell phone and check herself out at the same time.  Trying to weigh her produce and yammering away on her cell phone.  I looked around (ready to shoot myself because of this chick).  I saw SEVEN people talking on their cell phones just wandering around with their grocery carts.  I watched a gal in produce put one thing in her cart in 10 minutes because she couldn't say, "I'll call you back."  She just did a bunch of circles looking at things.

Are we seriously to the point where we can't perform the simplest of tasks without having a cell phone stapled to our ear?

Driving home, I saw two kids in the back of a car texting away like crazy.

We suck.

I picked up some take-out at a small but crowded restaraunt the other day, and everyone under the age of 65 had a smart phone in their hands or on the table in front of them.

I read an article today about  restaraunt in LA that will give you a 5% discount if you give your phone to the waiter to put away during your meal.  I wish this would be the case everywhere.

I left my cell phone on the porch of a house in Downtown. I did not realize till bout an hour later I did not have my phone.

Phones are a link to the world and lose all your numbers you never took the time to write down or remember

The feeling of being crushed was the way to describe how I felt

And there was a time in my life where I said I would never have a damn pager.

Before you know it I had a pager and would be pissed if somebody did not "put in their code" after the number when they paged me.

Ever read the book "Cell" by Stephen King great book about a terrorist attack in the form of a pulse that scrambles everyone's brain when they use their cellphone.  Basically the whole country gets launched into anarchy and chaos cuz everyone who used their cell goes stark raving mad.  Def recommend it

Yes this pisses me off too.  I get a kick out of all the broads at the gym who are on their phone while working out. Just put the damm phone away until you are done with your work out.  WTF.   I think a lot of people want to feel important so they text and talk while in public.

Bad breeding and "me monsters'" are rampant'. Kicking that woman in the box would have been perfectly acceptable.

Unfortunately we have to train a good majority of the population to be polite and courteous of others. Was at the pool today for a 1st day swim lesson. Every parent walked directly in front of my path on a pool deck without any safety regard. Sadly I had to drown close to half of them.

I went into my local redneck coffee and bait shop the other day and the sign above the counter next to the menu board read:

ALL INTERNET AND CELL PHONE SIGNALS BLOCKED IN THIS RESTAURANT IF YOU CAN BEAR THIS ENJOY YOUR BREAKFAST IF NOT YOU JUST CAME IN THROUGH THE DOOR. HAVE A NICE DAY.

I'm pretty sure cell signal blockers are illegal in the US.  I'm not sure if the sign was referring to bad service or they had a legit blocker but as far as I knew they were federally banned.

i saw this family the other day sitting in a mall. parents are checking their cell phones and the 2 young kids are playing on their ipads. i can't afford one stinking ipad and these 2 kids are each on their own. it's truly amazing how reliant people, myself included, have become with technology. pretty scary stuff.

behind holes get the full force of my stinkeye when they're in the checkout line, yammering away on their phones, not even acknowledging the cashier or making eye contact. Of course, I live within the hot, molten volcanic blowhole of narcissism, Hollywood, so it's no surprise to see this kind of nonsense everywhere. I dunno, having worked in the service industry in a former life, I guess I'm hypersensitive to such attitudes.

By the way, I see this codependent attachment to phones much more with gals than guys. Make of that what you will.

Well good thing one of them weren't driving and texting at the same time...I mean that combination could be potentially deadly.

And aren't you suppose to be keeping your focus on your driving straight ahead?

What da heck are you doing turning your head looking at the back seat of a car you're passing?...

Or how about just keeping your phone off while you're in the store then turning it back on when you leave the store, then turning it off again if you're driving, then turning it back on again when you get home?...

I couldn't agree more Hutch.

I was trying to navigate the underground garage at my local Wegmann's today when I was delayed by a woman trying to fit her Tahoe into a tight spot while refusing to pause her phone conversation. It literally took her at least 3 full minutes.

even in the movie theater people checking the phones for texts and causing distraction by the lighting up of the phone screen .

and soon as movie show ends as they walk down from seats towards exit door phones are out checking for texts, can't even wait to get out of the movie theater into the foyer, it is amazing to see.

How about this...

I had to tell an idiot at the gas pumps to shut his cell phone down while pumping.  Totally oblivious to the fact that a cell phone could ignite a gasoline pump.

Unreal the idiots walking around today.

I'll call my wife from the store to make sure I got everything, but I wouldn't walk around having a conversation.

I can't stand people that talk on their phone while checking out at the store.  I got a call one time while checking out, it was work related and I had to take it.  The next time I saw that cashier I apologized for doing that and he didn't remember.

But then you have the fool that just hold their phone to their ear and it's obvious they're not talking to anyone.  Also the douche bags that wear those stupid ear pieces.

This pisses a lot of people off, and most people seem to do it anyways.  It's no surprise that it's more common w/ women b/c they love to talk.
