For the time being, her actions apparently aren't illegal. Legislation
is pending that would cut off lottery winners from the welfare system.
More power to her. The Government has unlimited money. Her children need to eat.
Is there anyone here who would really like to see her children go without food?

federal tax rate is 35% on the winnings...and the cash value option took it to 50%..

I love the excuse, "well, no one cut me off". Is society as a whole that much different? No one asks themselves if what they are doing is right or wrong. I guess if no one is telling you you can't or shouldn't then it is okay. She didnt win a huge amount but if she had any brains, she wouldn't have to work another day in her life. Yes she would have to live frugally but it could be done......but...... I'll bet she still buys lottery tickets and lives like the money will last forever. |
