It's no secret the Stern show has really taken a crap since Artie has left. They also pay millions to people like Oprah,Eminem,Jamie Foxx,Martha Stewart etc.. who are only there for name recognition but cancel people like Bubba the love sponge. While I never really listened to this show it kinda pisses me off a bit.

I'm listening to yesterdays show right now for free on the internet at http://www.wcqj.com/

I've been told when I call to cancel to say I'm cancelling because they didn't resign bubba. They usually offer the $20/5month deal or better. Not sure because my subscription just ran out on my new Ford vehicle. They called 5x with a 5month free with 2 yr subscription which i declined.. then i recieve 4 letters stating the same thing. Now that the radios actually been shut off we will see what happens. Anyone cancel their subscription recently?

I have the XM for baseball during the season. Nothing beats laying out in the pool listening to some good baseball. Anyway after the season is over i dont renew it until the following season. I ended up getting in the mail a offer for $3 a month to renew. Of course i did it cause its a steal from the normal $150 a year or whatever it is. They called the house for a good month on and off.

hey manram, how many months was the $3/month thing. I have been with them for about 7 years. The best I get is the $70 for the year, which is pretty good. It comes out about to $6 a month.

Bubba was GREAT radio... definitely took some getting used to.  My Dad is/was a big fan and listened every day at work, I used to say I didn't understand how he could listen to them - then eventually I became a huge fan myself, those guys were hilarious and weren't afraid to call things as they saw it.  I'll miss that show for sure, but apparently he'll be on 'io radio' whatever that is, from 10:30-12:30

I have lived in Tampa forever and haev always been a big fan of Bubba.. aka BTLS great show and love when Hogan calls  in you can really get some insight. Bubba has certainly calmed down in the past 5 years from what he used to be.

Bubba's on the internet now?  radio io.com or something. I think you have to pay something. I guess he's probably still on the regular airwaves in Florida

I'm hearing Howard mentioned today he hopes to have Bubba back on Sirius by next week. Rumor was Bubba was making a cool million and they wanted him to take a cut down to 200k. Maybe howard is gonna pony up some dough to keep him around. The other channel is gonna be useless without any talent

Strange.

I've been a master of manipulating and conniving companies for the last decade.  I've run every racket you can possibly think of from every major company.  Yet, Sirius is the only company EVER that never played ball with me.  A few months ago, I tried the "I don't like this new internet fee so just cancel my service" line expecting to get it for free and a free month or two for the inconvenience, and they were like "Ok, you're canceled."

I'm gonna go the Bubba route and see what happens.

By the way, loving the Stern show as always.  I do miss Artie, but garbage happens, I guess.  I don't like the further cut back of hours though.  Not only is the show down to 4 hours a day for 4 days, but it changed the schedule so the replay starts at 11AM now(when I'm dead asleep on my lunch break), and ends at 3:20pm when I still have 45 minutes left in my commute home.

G-Man.....

Btw, great link.  Xm/Sirius is blocked at my job, so I've been using MUSICDOCK.COM to bypass the censors.  Every day I cringe in the morning thinking TODAY will be the day Musicdock gets blocked as well, so it is nice to have an alternative.

Just need to find an O&A alternative now.

Sirius is such a garbage company, and they really made Howard look bad when he kept pushing that merger for them saying how the prices won't go up - then it goes through and immediately we have to pay for the internet radio and suddenly WE are paying all the royalty fees for getting the music.  They say 'well we didn't raise any prices those are necessary fees'.... well its a fee that Sirius ate before the merger and now it's being passed down to us.  People like my dad don't even listen to the music on Sirius - EVER... still have to pay the 'music fee'.  darn sirius.

and F jackie.

I still think Stern lost that "Shock" factor when he left radio that was making him popular in the first place.

I stopped listening to Howard when his last 6 months on the air became an infomercial for his Sirius show.....

I've had Sirius before Stern and loved it.  Now, I can't get enough of it.  Don't know what I'd do without Sirius.  It's a great product!  Jackie was an annoying dipshit.

If you don't mind me asking how did you get sirius for $70 a year? I've been a subscriber for about the same number of years as yourself.

I've heard about people getting coupons or codes for these great kinda deals.

Wanted to bump this to see if we could get an answer.  My renewal time is about to come up, and I wanted to see if I could save some money on this.

hey sorry. All I did was do a little research online and saw people were getting it. I called and said I want to renew if you can hook me up and that I had seen people online getting it for $70 for the year and they gave it to me.

They just called me this morning and offered me 6months free and it was like 77 for the year. This was on a new car sub that I left expire on new years eve. I told them it was a second sub and they offered me another 30percent off that. which was about 50 for the year.

Ive been told if you call and outright cancel you will get the best deal. maybe even 5 months for 20 bucks or the 6month free deal. I just let mine expire and have been listening a little bit online. I'm about to cancel my wifes and I'll let you know what happens
