You could not be more wrong about .  Their tallest player is 6'5" and over 200 lbs, but you are right in the fact that she probably cannot touch the backboard.  Maya Moore is 6'2" and she dunks easily.  I used to think the same way most of you cover members thought and after playing pick up games against them, with a men's ball, learned how good they actually are.  I am beginning to think most have never seen this level of women's basketball and are thinking to what they saw in high school.  Once you have an opportunity to play against these women your opinion will change.

If you are referring to these Maya Moore dunks as easily doing them, then you are clearly mistaken. First using a woman's ball, second no one is even covering her and she barely even tosses it in. Definitely not a throw down dunk. I can throw down a two handed dunk from a stand still beneath the basket. I'm sure I'd have no problem covering a Maya Moore.

Never said she was throwing down with authority but she is putting it in there with ease. I have seen her do it in the gym also. Definitely not just stuffing it.

I would take even an out of shape team of guys 6 foot and over...it wouldn't be close...The best player in women's history could not beat any guys at her high school, and that's a fact, so why would this be any different? Covers team in a blowout....

Reggie Miller said he would routinely get beat by his sister.... Maya Moore is better than Reggie's sister and the level of woman's basketball, especially the UConn women's team, is leaps and bounds better than 10/20/30 years ago.

jpero, believe me buddy, the best player to ever play in the women's game, was beat by every single guy on the boy's high school team...And none of the games were close either..If you can catch and dribble a basketball in addition to being six foot or over, all you have to do is overpower inside, it's not rocket science...

You are talking ONE on ONE buddy.

If I am 6'6" and 300 lbs there is no one on covers beating me cause i will just back you down to under the hoop and score. Does that make me better? Does that mean 5 of me can take down a team of 5?

Also you are talking high school. You definitely dont know the best woman's player to ever play because you dont know Maya Moore or Diana Taurasi or Candace Parker... The players you are seeing in your mind are like comparing a JV high school player to a 1st team All American in college. They are different players and until you actually play a player on a team such as UConn or Tennessee or UNC or anything you will never understand or realize how good these woman actually are...

It took me getting outplayed in a pick up game to finally give a woman player props and the players I played against werent even the best on the teams. I am no slouch either when it comes to bball. I can hold my own and have played with the UConn Men's practice players and walk ons.

The only thing women should be shooting is dirty clothes in the laundry basket! In all sincerity they would probably beat 5 of us fat digenerate gamblers by 50 points, I would just hope we wouldn"t have heartattacks!

Top 2 statements are completely false.

However i do completely agree with the last sentence...If you take 5 players that played legit hs ball(d1) - not small town bums...They could name the score vs uconn...Thats not even argueable imo

ok, what about UCONN women vs 4 random covers members and a C-list NBA player such as Brian Scalabrine?

Thanks ashland...I'm sure I have forgotten more about sports than you know...I witnessed this with my own two eyes...I think I would know something about it...but thanks for the attempt at an insult in all caps. Learn that not every word in the English language is supposed to be capitalized. I think I learned that in first grade...or was it kindergarten?

My fraternity team played against five girls from UVa's then-#1-ranked team - three of them starters, and one who would go on to be an all-ACC player a few years later.  The fraternity team, which was very average, though they were pretty tall, won a close game to 15 or 21 or something.  In fairness, this UConn team would probably destroy that UVa team, but it probably tells you something that "a bunch of random guys" could play the #1 team in the country to a standstill.

IF YOU TOOK THE 5 BEST BASKETBALL PLAYERS ON COVERS AND PUT THEM UP AGAINST THE UCONN WOMEN...I WOULD STILL TAKE UCONN IN A CAKE WALK.

Just realize that these women are incredibly good players.

Worst post ever. The "average" covers member is in the mid to late 30s and is out of shape. Randomness could throw in a girl or a man over the age of 60....

Gimme UCONN women please.

I am a very selective bettor, but I would bet heavily on 5 of the best Covers players in an NBA-type, 48 minute game using a men's regulation basketball.  The UConn women would be HUGE underdogs.

WHO WINS???

There are plenty of junior college MENS basketball teams int his country today that would LOSE to to this WOMENS Huskie team.

They are above and beyond excellent and aside from playing dirty or being blatently abusive to the females -------- Mens teams in a few JC's would lose.

Oh and 5 random covers slobs would get beat by a little kids league pick up game. Covers randoms could play well for a few minutes but in the end the kids cardio would prevail.
