#3 Posted: 7/25/2010 7:41:22 PM Charles Barkley= Big tipper
Most all other athletes= small tippers
The best tippers are ex or current servers/tenders
Until you do the work you cannot understand how tough of a job it is (in most cases).
I waited on Popovich years ago and he was a good tipper, have waited on many famous people but the best tippers were either large parties who knew the work being done and appreciated it, or servers who know the value of the job.

Certain people tend to tip LESS than others in a general fashion..
Some people think that 5% or less is the proper tip..in general.

#14 Posted: 7/25/2010 9:29:59 PM Some countries automatically add on a 15% or so onto a restaurant bill
Pretty sure that in Australia it is considered rude to give a tip in a pub. |

#15 Posted: 7/25/2010 9:43:17 PM In many Asian countries, a certain percentage is automatically added to the bill, called "service charge." Most patrons are aware of this, so they don't hand out the extra. That's because it isn't customary for most Asian countries to tip in the first place. Same with pubs in Australia, I've observed.

#16 Posted: 7/25/2010 9:46:04 PM I remember the first time I dined at a restaurant in China, the waitress rushed out after me to give back the change I "left on the table." When told it was left for her, she looked offended.
