What's Your Sports Betting highlight of The Decade?

As the decade draws to a close over the next 10 days or so, what has been your most memorable bet from the past 10 years? It doesn't have to be a bet that gave you the most profit but a bet that provided exceptional value or gave you the greatest satisfaction in winning.

Mine would have to be France vs England at Euro 2004 in soccer.The bet I placed was England to be leading at half-time and France to come back and win the game @ +2800. I talked a work colleague into placing the same bet who was sceptical but just when the bet looked like being a loser France scored two very late goals to win the game and all through the 2nd half I still had total confidence in it becoming a winning wager.There was also a great atmosphere at the bar where we watched the game.Even though it was only about 300 euro I won, it was my first sizeable win and truly got me started in sports betting.

Music City Miracle + kicking some ass in poker in some home games in Hokes Bluff  

mine is more of a lowlight then a highlight. Anyways on December 7th 2006, I bet the under 196.5 in a game between the Phoenix Suns and the New Jersey Nets and the two teams combined for the third highest scoring game in NBA history. So as I sat with my Under 196.5 I watched those two teams combine for 318 points.

Taking the Cards Last Year at 40-1 Favs to win the Super Bowl (In Week 12) Made a nice amount hitting Hedge Props every week.

Also hit a 12 game Baseball parlay for $5 that paid out $2,200-something this year.

The Free-Throw Loop Hole in the Pistons/Lakers Championship series.

Only being 26 years old, this decade has included my entire betting career.  Most memorable bet was one of my first bets.  Being young and stupid, I started off doing 5-6 team parlays for $20 a pop.  I liked the big payouts of course, not realizing that it is horrible money management. 

Anyway, Week 2 of the 2005 NFL Season (my first NFL season betting)...I hit a 6 team parlay to win something like $600.  And when you are 21 years old, living at home, making $250 a week at a crummy job, $600 in your pocket is pretty damn sweet.

That got me started into really capping games and not just betting with my heart.  And look at me now!!

500 on Ohio State to win the National Championship in 02'.  Placed the bet in August at 20-1 and when the Fiesta Bowl was over in January, I was cashing a ticket for 10 Large!

The year that Florida repeated as champs in CBB, I think it was 06? 

Anyway, my roomate and I each put $500 down on an 8 team NCAA tourny opening round Money line parlay.  This is when we were both college seniors, so $500 to us then was a shitload.    We picked all ML's between like -350 and -700 or so.  As a kicker, to give the parlay some payout we threw in Vanderbilt -130 in there.  This was the game when Vandy was laying 1.5 to George Washington, and EVERYONE knew that Vandy was gonna run them, which they did.  Only other big sweat was Oregon vs Bradley, as Oregon was losing at one point with like 5 min left.  A few of the other games were close, but nothing too bad.  We turned that initial $1000 into about $6000 after the first two days of games.  Not bad. 

Then with the second round coming up the next day, we decided to throw the whole $7000 on the 3 heaviest faves, UNC, Kansas, and Florida all on the MLs, parlayed.  Forget who they were all playing, but that was about $7000 to win about $3800 or so.  They all won easily and we cashed a cool ten large to chop after investing $500 each.  I'll never forget watching the last game which was Florida, and at around the five minute mark with them up 15 or so, realizing that I was about to scoop more $ than I'd ever seen in my life.  Just an amazing feeling.

In 2003 (I think), needed the Patriots to beat the Colts to finish off a parlay for $2000. Colts had 4 chances from the 2 yard line and couldn't punch it in. When Willie McGinest dragged down Edgerrin James on 4th Down, I almost hit the ceiling!

my greatest miracle win ever:

back in 2001 (when coors field was still a pinball machine), there was a phillies - rockies game in april. I bet the rockies on the money line for 1000 and the under 13.5 for 1000. after the 2nd innings the score was 6-0 phillies...somehow some way the game ended 7-6 rockies and i hit both bets.

in 2002 i had under 193.5 in a pistons nuggets game. with 2 minutes and 50 seconds left in the game they were on 193 points and the game was a blowout. neither team would score another point and i hit the under.

Played Louisville footballers on the money line at, +500 vs. FLA State on a Thursday night game a few years ago and the Cards winning out. Probably one of the greatest wins in school history.
