Henry has to be the favorite right now after the numbers he has put up last several weeks, that last sec TD vs Auburn was kind of a Heisman type moment to cap off a nice season for the undefeated Tide and a beast of a running back, Henry is fun to watch

I'd bet him if it were me
undefeated down the stretch, obv not for the season
I'm not counting their early season loss or OU's early season loss in my mind anymore since both were so long ago, especially since both will be in the playoffs and start from scratch

Yeah, and also the head to head with FourNOT... I think if he breaks Herschel Walker's record and goes crazy in the SECCG he wins it.

he would have to get hurt and Bama lose the game for him to NOT win it at this point
its amazing what 6 weeks can do on the mind
just 6 weeks ago everyone was saying Fournette was an all time great, a lock for the heisman and the best back in the country, now he's off the radar completely and it's all Henry
I think the kid at FSU is better than both of them personally and will be the best pro of the 3 as well, will be interesting to see their careers at the next level, all 3 are really nice football players

Thank you... I just realized that there were 3 backs at the time, Chubb, Fournette, and Henry... I watched the Georgia game and I said, Henry simply looked better in that game because of our defense, and I knew that the same would happen with Fournette and our defense against LSU, and I knew the voters would see that and Henry would get it. So yeah, got it at +800 at the time.

good luck to your team Tappy
I am of the same opinion... Both losses are irrelevant and are no true reflection of a teams ability... Good luck to yours as well.

I honestly have not watched him play a full game, so I can't be a judge of him as a player.. I did watch him a lot in the Florida game, but their defense is not very good at stopping the run, so that is no surprise...
I will say for Henry that most of his TD's come after contact, and his ability as a running back is one of if not the best in the nation. I have whitnesses some great backs at Alabama, been watching since I was a kid, and he is among the best. I do not place him above Trent, but I out him right there with Ingram...

Yeah, I don't think we will ever see a 1 loss 'Bama get those kinds of odds again after knowing how the CFP committee favors SEC schools.
quite shocking you got that honestly considering teams with losses surely get in and that Bama would most certainly still have a great chance to win the SEC
no chance an SEC champ wouldn't get in the playoff and rightly so, surely they expect Ole Miss to win the conference after that game, I wonder why the odds were so high
I would have taken that as well if I had a clue it existed, that is great odds
will you hedge at all or you feel they are a lock to win it?
I honestly favor them after the long layoff because they run and play great defense, that style is best after long breaks

I think the odds were in place as Coker still looked terrible and hadn't proven himself as he did in the Georgia game. The +2000 was from a local that allows you to line shop for futures. I also grabbed +1200 from topbet at the post-loss juncture, which may have been a better indication of what the odds should have been pegged to. Also, my Alabama to win the SEC Championship that was pre-Miss St. (-175) has shaped up nicely.
To hedge, or not to hedge? Currently, i'm ready to let it ride pending a horrific injury this Saturday. If oddsmakers have either of Bama's CFP games pegged within -4 I may reconsider not hedging but at this point I feel pretty confident. You think I shouldn't?

I would only hedge some if they play OU in the champ game, let me explain
if they play OU in the first playoff game then I'll favor Bama to win because the long break favors defensive teams that can run the ball, not a tempo team like OU, in this case I'd lean Bama
if they seed them where OU and Bama would face off in the title after having a game under their belt then I'd say OU is a definite threat to your bet so I'd probably hedge it some then
I think it all depends on who wins this weekend and how they seed things, all I know is you have to feel very good about having the favorite to win at +2000 & +1200, that is good stuff & rare to see for a program like Bama getting odds like that
if they played OU tomorrow I'd advise you to hedge, if they played them in the first game then I wouldn't, if they play them in the champ game then I probably would again
I know that seems complicated but that's how I see it and if you don't want to sweat it out then I'll happily buy half of your bet

Thanks for the insight Wahoos-- i'll definitely take that into consideration. I always like my odds when Saban has 3 weeks to prepare for a game, and you almost make me want to play Oklahoma 1st instead of allowing another team to take a shot at them.
As for you buying half of my bet...feel free to book me a fountain suite at the Belagio for Super Bowl weekend and then we can sweat it out together

haha, nice
& yes, I give the adv to Nick over Bob if they play in the first game with 3 weeks to prepare despite Bob beating him two years ago
Bob hasn't shown consistency in those long prep time games, he has a much better shot if they play in the 2nd game in my opinion
if they meet in the title game I think we get a good legit title game with two very good teams representing two good conferences, two historic programs, it would be ideal for everyone involved including TV ratings

Just out of curiosity... Completely professional question that I would like to have a discussion with you about and hear your thoughts on the matter... Miss St and Texas AnM, and even Arkansas have spread it out on us and we pressured them with our front 7, sacked them, and picked them off. We have the best pass rush in college football and are up there in picks... My question is do you honestly think that OU is that much better at spreading it out than these other teams? And do you think Baker is that much better than these other QBs? and do you even think these are factors I should be looking at?
