bet on NM St at your own risk...new coach, new coordinators, new QB starting his first game, a team that was 1-11 last year SU and 3-8-1 ATS...playing at night in Austin...
Yes I am a homer, and I am not sure if I will bet on this game either. But, Texas is highly motivated to start the season off right after three disappointing seasons by Texas standards. M Brown is feeling the heat and a lot of people are calling this team and the coaches out for underperforming. We have been blown out by OU 118 to 38 the last two years. When you are storied program like Texas, that is not acceptable. The Big Cigars at Texas and the fanbase are getting tired of Mack Brown's underperforming. There are also political issues going on involving our AD DeLoss Dodds, the University President Powers and the UT System Board of Regents incolving our big and haired and incompetent governor rick perry (who by the way was an Aggie yell leader (AKA Cheeleader in the 1970s.) There is a lot of frustration built up. A lot of pressure on Brown, DC Manny Diaz, and the whole team. We return 19 starters, 10 on O, and 9 on D, from a 9-4 team who defeated a top 15 ranked Oregon St team in the Alamo Bowl. I don't buy P Steele's perspective that we are the 4th best team in the country (power ratings; I think he is on crack). I think we are no better than Top 15. But still, according to Brown, everything has been pointing to 2013. We were one of the youngest teams in the country the last two years. Now, we have a lot of Senior and Juniors and virtually all the starters are 5 and 4 star players (at least from the ratings.)
