Nothing is wrong with being a homer!

He is bitter because he has lived his life as a reject. Instead of doing something about it, he gets pleasure of being negative! He will always be a reject until he changes his outlook.

IF someone is going to tell me that Alabama players don't get a pass and that law enforcement in that area aren't concerned about their jobs when dealing with a player I will tell them to their face they are out of their mind. Odds are 98% of the cops in that town are diehard, lifelong Bama fans that would rather arrest their own mother before one of the players One every day is an attempt to deflect a much broader issue amongst SEC schools and that is the wide-spread cheating that goes on that does NOt happen to the same extent in other conferences. What Southerners refuse to comprehend is that yes, they are more at fault than any other universities or conferences. Southerns should not be trying to defend themselves against these blotter reports because articles like this are meant to protect the SEC. If ESecPn can project that the SEC schools are trying to show a firm hand for minor issues then it allows the major infractions of wide-spread cheating amongst SEC schools to continue. Hence, more NC's for the SEC. If the NCAA wants a level playing field then they MUST put all SEC schools (except Vandy) on probation!!

As a Bama fan, I'm not naive enough to think "dirty" tactics are not utilized. But, I also do not fault schools for using the grey areas of the rules to their advantage. That is just good strategy!

And, since a great deal of money that Bama's football program brings in goes back to support other athletic sports and academics. Overall, regular students are benefitting from the football programs success.

Absolutely, the stupidest comment I've ever heard!!!!

"Ok SEC, you are all on probation"!

Coaches & AD's: "What for?"

"for winning, being dominate and successful, and because a string of NC's have occurred in the conference."

Coaches & AD's: "what specifically have we done? Please, provide us with proof?"

"Well...."

Coaches & AD's: " Have you looked at other successful programs around the country and will you put them on probabtion?"

"No...just the SEC!"

Coaches & AD's: " We will have our lawyers contact yours. Until you can provide hard evidence then you can't do this! Also, how in the hell does poor Kentucky and Ole' Miss get put on probabtion?"

Hahahahahaha...wow!!! Pure stupidity!!!

I agree. As long as Lucan accepts that as the truth, he will be fine.

Yeah, he is the type of person you do not want as a part of your fan base.

However, I would probably be bitter towards Bama if I were him too!

These accusations occured while Alabama was on probation; and were NEVER investigated!!!

…accusing a booster of buying 5-star recruit Brent Calloway. Amoung the allegations made was that the booster: made cash payments to his dad, paid the family’s mortgage, bought him a car, and promised of $1,200 a month.

Now take the rumor for what it’s worth because it is coming from an Auburn writer and it’s about a recruit that flip-flopped his commitment from Auburn to Alabama…but if true WOW! They didn’t even buy players that much stuff on Blue Chips.

  • A supporter of Alabama took Calloway to Tuscaloosa multiple times including the weekend prior to national signing day.
  • The supporter allegedly then drove Calloway out of state and kept him there until he returned to his hometown of Russellville, Alabama on signing day.
  • Before Calloway’s final trip to Tuscaloosa pre-signing day, the Bama supporter allegedly made cash payments to Harland “Peaches” Winston who is Calloway’s adoptive father.
  • Winston supposedly received $2,500 from the Bama fan on at least one occasion.
  • Supposedly, Winston also received aid in catching up on his home mortgage.
  • The fan also allegedly provided Calloway with a new car that the player drove to school. Supposedly enough questions were asked about the car that it was returned on the same day.
  • Allegedly, the car was purchased by the Bama supporter from a dealership in Muscle Shoals owned by yet another Alabama supporter.
  • Supposedly, the supporter told Calloway that he would receive $1,200 per month while playing at Alabama.

2002: Alabama Football
Violation(s): Impermissible recruiting ... extra benefits.
Sanctions: Postseason ban ... reduced scholarships ... recruiting restrictions ... disassociation with boosters.

The name "Albert Means" is still a punchline in SEC country, mostly as a symbol of the unabashed graft that defined his recruitment -- a player who was literally sold by his high school coach to the highest bidder. That winning bid came from a Alabama booster, Logan Young, who allegedly paid the coach $150,000 to steer Means to the Crimson Tide and spent the rest of his life attempting to avoid a prison sentence as result. (Young met a grisly end in 2006, though police said the bloody scene at his home was the result of an accidental fall.) Another recruit, Kenny Smith, was reportedly paid $20,000 by two other 'Bama boosters; an assistant coach, Ronnie Cottrell, received two loans from Young totaling $56,600. A repeat offender, Alabama narrowly escaped its own death from the NCAA, accepting a two-year bowl ban and major scholarship reductions instead.

SAME BOOSTERS DOING THE SAME THING!!!

AUG 15 BAMA SELF REPORTS SECONDARY VIOLATIONS (NOT PRIMARY!!)

The University of Alabama has acknowledged 27 NCAA secondary rules violations in its athletic department over the past year, 14 of which were due to impermissible text messages or phone calls to recruits.

The NCAA places calendar limitations on when coaches are permitted to initiate contact with prospective student-athletes.

Secondary violations typically do not draw penalties from the NCAA unless an institution shows a pattern problem with the same violation. Rather, they are normally handled through correspondence with the NCAA showing corrective action by the institution. In most cases, corrective action includes rules education and a letter of admonishment. Often, coaches are also temporarily forbidden from contacting the recruit in question!

Football violations included a student-athlete who received his scholarship check prematurely, a coach who prematurely accepted Facebook friending requests from two recruits, an impermissible text message sent to a prospective student athlete's father and impermissible documents provided to PSAs.

I guess you have to be on probation to get to the national title game??

The NCAA Committee on Infractions placed the University of Alabama on three years' probation for "major violations" uncovered in the school's 2007 textbook investigation.

UA, a “repeat offender”, according to the NCAA, was forced to vacate football victories from games during the 2005, 2006 and 2007 seasons in which one of seven "intentional wrongdoers" participated. Selected individual records in men's and women's track and men's tennis were also vacated. There were no scholarship losses for any Alabama sports program.

Wow probation leads the players to believe they WILL GET PAID! Thats nice Busted 2007 Champions 2009 2011, USC Busted and will probably win it all this year!! THE SYSTEM WORKS!!

Hahahahahaha. That makes no sense because I don't know anything at all about drinking Bud and beating my wife! Atleast, you are finally admitting your lack thereof! Nice job!!

I'd place pretty solid odds on you typing yourself into a little trouble this CFB season.

Because the damages are presumed, it is hard for a jury to devise a uniform method of valuation. That is why a plaintiff can only obtain nominal damages at trial, thereby precluding compensatory damages absent proof of actual harm. Of course, the Plaintiff is free to seek to prove actual damages, which one would hope would be greater. However, that is often not possible.

Jail???  A fine??- maybe, anyone caring about words between fans on a website?? Only if its ALABAMA!!!!

I was talking about a "hit" of weed

So you was offered 10,000 to hit weed

JWheels,

Somebody once decribed a Homer:

In the entire wide world of sports, there is one team that you worship. " Like not worship"

You have been a fan your entire life. "Yes"

You can name all the players and their number. "No"

You think they are a title contender every year and can’t believe they could ever lose, but other teams cheat and referees always favor the other team and pick on yours unfairly. "Not no but hell no"

So if that makes me a homer to you so be it, to me its a stupid word people use.

Roll-Tide

What Cam Newton has to say about the alleged pay for play!! Says a ton about the mentality of these selfish kids!!

"I am not going to sit up here and say anything about it. Whether I did or did not. Because I do not want to beat a dead horse....because it is not going to affect me in any form or fashion."

Well said Cam, im sure Julio, Mark and Trent feel exactly the same way!!

This quote is about LUCAN AND BAMAPIKS:

You like Alabama football because you are from Alabama, and need something, anything to be proud of, or worse still you need it to connect you to a home you left long ago because you never ever felt comfortable there. You like it because you like winning, and are one of those shallow people who just like things that win, and don’t particularly care one way or the other if you have any actual connection to said thing. You like Alabama football for the same reason people not born in New York like the New York Yankees: because they are successful, and more than anything else, more than soul, person, place, or for the love of the thing itself, you value cardinal order. You might have a gigantic pachyderm of emotions sitting there in the corner of the room labeled "Father," and if he’s over there, then you’re over here watching Crimson Tide football for dark, obvious, and insoluble reasons.

How many people does it take to win at NCAAF??

Streeter Lecka - Getty ImagesMore photos »

ESPN's Alex Scarborough has a very interesting article today about the growing size of the support staff in the University of Alabama Athletic department and how that has led to the recent success of the school's sports teams, particularly football. According to the report, there are 146 non-coaches working in the department and between 2009 and 2011 the budget for them jumped 31.7 percent, to about $18.1 million.

How this helps Alabama's teams succeed is demonstrated by Coach Saban's "system" in the football program, Scarborough argues. Saban uses the structure of his support staff to maximize the effectiveness of his coaches.

Capper...you need a mental evaluation!

Your little "poem" about me and Lucan is the stupidest thing I've ever read.

I love Alabama football because I WAS born in the state and grew up in the state. I graduated from Alabama and met many great people while attending the Capstone. Also, the University provided many great memories.

You need to get a life. You are very ignorant and you use this forum for acceptance by copying and pasting old articles. You want to be accepted and "looked up" too so bad. The truth is...it's only you and a few poker chips in your lonely life. You are not happy or satisfied because at the end of the day...you've accomplished nothing.

BamaPiks---I own my own business have 4 kids and live in a neighborhood full of nice houses (not a trailer park like yourself) i feel sorry for you that you feel some sort of accomplishment with the fact  that YOUR football team LOST at home, played a bunch of nobodys last year nonconference, and coasted off LSUs nonconference play! I wont copy/paste anymore (since that bugs you so much!!!)

Alabamas non conference 2011

Georgia Southern

Kent state

@Penn state

North Texas

That really gives the country a chance to know who is the BEST?? Playing a bunch of nobodies and happy Penn state??? You lost to LSU at home and still won the N.C. Game, your sense of entitlement is so retarded...THE SEC IS OVER-RATED..NICK SABAN MADE A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL, AND MARK EMMERT WILL NEVER INVESTIGATE HIS OLD GOLFING BUDDY!!

I COPY/PASTED THAT POEM FROM RTR (ROLL TIDE ROLL) FORUM

The stuff i copy paste is alot more watered down than the garbage i will say, but have it your way!!
