liking a&m here as i feel their 3-4 defense matches up very well with Ok St. spread offense attack.
Also loving the RLM with 60% on OkSt. the line opens at 3 and moves to 3.5.....
chime in folks.......

I think A&M is a strong play here. Obviously I am biased, but I really do not think this will be a field goal game as my Oklahoma State friend may think. Here is how I see it in a nutshell:
Offense: Advantage Ok State
Defense: Advantage A&M
Special Teams: Advantage A&M
Intangibles: Advantage A&M because of Kyle Field
While I wish our offense was as good as Oklahoma State, we aren't that far behind, and given that we have the advantage as it relates to the other three factors, we should be fine. I see the Ags winning by about 10 points.

I realize I am new to this forum, but take some issue with saying that A&M has the advantage on special teams. I have no bias toward either team, but think you are off on the special teams comment. (while I agree on your other assesment that OSU better offense, A&M better defense)...
My thoughts:
Strenght of Schedule thus far: (OSU)
Most would agree OSU. Played Louisiana Laf, Arizona and at Tulsa. A&M played SMU and Idaho.
Offense: (OSU)
Edge OSU
OSU 52.3/gm vs A&M 41.5/gm
OSU 601/gm vs A&M 487.5/gm
Rushing Offense: OSU 193/gm vs A&M 176/gm
Pass Offense: OSU 408/gm vs A&M 311.5/gm
Defense: (A&M)
Rush Defense: A&M 67.5/gm vs OSU 171.3/gm
Pass Defense: A&M 199.5/gm vs OSU 242.3/gm
Total Defense: A&M 267/gm vs OSU 413.7/gm
Special Teams: even slight edge OSU
KO Returns: A&M Avg 25 yds/KO vs OSU Avg 22.5/KO
KO return for TD: A&M=0 vs OSU=1
Punt Return yds: A&M 7.2 yds/PR vs OSU 5.2 yds/PR
Punting: OSU 49.2 yd avg vs A&M 42 yd avg
Punt + Coverage: OSU 38.8 yd Net vs A&M 38.0 net
Field Goals: OSU 6/7 (86%) vs A&M 5/6 (83%)
PAT Kicking: OSU 19/20 (95%) vs A&M 8/10 (80%)
Kickoff Touchbacks: OSU=16/28 vs A&M 5/17
Kickoff Coverage: A&M 50.6 Net Avg vs OSU 48.5 Net Avg
Not trying to be a nitty prick, but I think OSU does have a slight advantage in special teams.
That being said... A&M has huge homefield advantage.
Offense: OSU>A&M
Defense: A&M>OSU
Special Teams: OSU slight edge
Home Field: A&M big
Is a no play for me.

Well that didn't copy/past right...
Should just be a simple cross avg comparing OSU-O to A&M-D on basis of ppg, pass yards and rush yards:
Results in:
OSU 31.4 pts
OSU Rush - 130
OSU Pass - 304
vs
A&M 34.3 pts
A&M Rush - 174
A&M Pass - 277

I agree it is close, but I am going to standby my point that A&M is better in special teams. We have them beat in terms of return yards per both kickoff and punt. The one and only stat where the Cowboys have the advantage is punting average. But, I should point out that two punters got a chance to punt in the first two games. One of the punters averaged 39.5 yards per and the other was 45 yards per. The latter individual will be getting all the punts when it matters.

One and only stat that OSU beats A&M is punting average?
By the special teams stats:
OSU beats A&M in special teams in:
1) KO Return for Td = big play potential
2) Punting Avg - you already agreed on this one
3) Punting net (includes coverage)
4) Field Goal % - though will call a wash simply because 6/7 vs 5/6 is essentially the same
5) PAT % - This could be important. A&M 8/10 vs OSU 19/20
6) Kickoff Touchbacks - OSU 16/28 (57%) vs A&M (29%)
That all being said, I still wouldn't touch this game. And am not a fan of either team, just a stat junky

I agree on the kid from SMU completely. He is very good!
I am also big on the kid OSU has (Sharp). One of the better kickers/punters I have seen in a while.
If I were forced to pick I side, I would take A&M though just on account of the fact that I am old school and like to see defense from time to time. OSU has very little of that.
