I bet LSU -8 at Bookmaker shortly after the lines were posted. Here are a few of my reasons.
(35)Auburn (5-2) (H 4-1) (V 1-1) (4-3 ATS) at (10)LSU (5-1) (H 2-1) (V 3-0) (2-4 ATS)
The Venue is an important part of handicapping this game. The 11th ranked LSU Tigers host the 35th ranked Auburn Tigers. This night game in Death Valley will prove that Tigers DO eat their young. 92,400 of the loudest, drunkest fans you will ever find in such a confined area. All yelling Geaux Tigers or a lot more personal things.
Survey after survey has concluded that Tiger Stadium on Saturday night is the most difficult place for a visiting team to play. And many testimonials say the same thing. Here are some notable testimonials on playing a night game in Baton Rouge.
ESPN named Tiger Stadium "the scariest place to play” and declared it is, by far,” the loudest stadium in the country.”
ESPN sideline reporter Adrian Karsten said, "Death Valley in Baton Rouge is the loudest stadium I've ever been in. But, that's what you get when you have 90,000 drunk, illiterate, Welfare recipients.”
"Baton Rouge happens to be the worst place in the world for a visiting team. It's like being inside a drum." Bear Bryant
"Unfair is playing LSU on a Saturday night in Baton Rouge." Mike Huckabee, Govenor Arkansas

While LSU enjoys the advantage in defense; Auburn has the advantage on the offensive side of the ball. OR DO THEY? Let’s take a look at their offense over the last two games; The Auburn offense only scored one TD against KY. The defense blocked a kick for the other TD. So the offensive numbers put up against some of the weakest defenses in college football accounted for that deceptive number. In fact; Auburn is averaging only 23.5 PPG against their SEC opponents. (BTW LSU IS an SEC OPPONENT)
I have watched most of the Auburn games and you can see their offense getting less productive each week. QB Chris Todd will need a better game than he had against KY; 10-24, 80 yds, 0 TD / 1 INT. I know the fans are dancing in the streets over Chizik; but I think that honeymoon is about to be over. How can someone just go POOF and become a good coach, just like that? Or maybe a better way to say it for this Saturday is: How does a Tiger change his stripes. Where has he been such a bigger winner???

Always enjoy your reads... you definitely sold me on the play, sec knows how to stop aub offense...les miles...aub defense porous especially in that environment, could be a break out game for the teen

I feel like the line is where I thought it would be based on AU losing the last 2. I also think asking for more than a TD is a tough bet on a game that could be very tight.

I think LSU is one of those teams you want to like for all the reasons mentioned. But...for a #9 ranked BCS team they have yet to blow out anybody out and at -8 it gets tricky. I think this game is more evenly matched than the line indicates. However, as you correctly wrote, LSU at home at night is gnarly. I've been there as a non-welfare recipient and it is loud and a fun place to watch a game.
So for me, this games registers as a no play for a few reasons. The line and I've completely stopped wagering on big conference games. I have been far more successful this year dialing in the mismatches in the smaller conferences thus getting much more favorable lines.
I will be rooting for LSU as I want my fellow Georgian to clean up. I live in Acworth...you? Do you play poker in ATL? If so, we may know each other.
Ambush out.

Jefferson will not have to worry to much about being pressured with that Auburn D line and he'll be able to find his receivers and make big plays with his legs...I can easily see a blowout after Auburn's tough loss last week...There offense has been a shell of itself in there last 2 games and I don't see them turning it around vs the Tigers

-8 with the lsu 112 ranked offense against the aub 71 ranked defense, aub has the 8 ranked offense going against the lsu 35 ranked defense. I will say a 5-1 vs 5-2 team with a -8 at home in a conference match up is a very strong endorsement for the lsu with these numbers
best of with your play

If you have it at -8 you are def. going to lose. nice write up though. this game is always close regardless of what rankings or position the team is in. GD Luck
