I would put Lackey out there game 1. A well rested vet with plenty of playoff experience.
Kershaw is vulnerable here imo. With his post season history, how he's looking lately, the Cubs hit him hard in one game "this" year...
It's early, no lineups, no pitcher named for the Cubs yet, no ump yet. Preliminarily I'm leaning the dog and the over, especially if it's Lackey. I could just imagine the line that the names Kershaw vs Lackey would warrant for the public's eyes.
A Dodgers -185 would still draw dodgers $ I would think.
Cubs have some momentum. Surviving and overcoming Stras twice, Sczerzer twice(1 out of the pen) is impressive.
It's another uphill climb against a potent staff in the Dodgers.

In this spot vs Kershaw for the game 1 on the road I start whoever has the second best chance to win vs LAD hitting and for game 2 on the road I start my pitcher who has the best chance of winning vs LAD hitting.

Call me crazy but I feel this is a must win for the Dodgers. If they are to bounce the Cubs out of the playoffs they need to jump on them quick and put the pressure on them from the start. At home, kershaw on the mound, Cubs off an emotional win two nights ago, this is the game they need bad. I do not like the Cubs starting pitching nor do I think their bullpen is any good and I cringe when I hear the name Lackey. Think about it: if you have to resort to John Lackey as your game 1 starter, what is that saying? Well two things: you can't manage your rotation very well and your staff is not that deep. For me it's simple: this year's Cubs team is not as good as last year's and this dodgers team is better than last year's. The dodgers are getting what they wanted and that's the Cubs. I'm anxious to see how they approach this series. As for the Cubs starter today, I guess you have no choice but to start Lackey but can we both agree, IF he struggles, Maddon may have to let him struggle for a while so that he can rest his pen and staff for a long series. Expecting Lackey to go 5 on the road is asking a lot imo and this smells like one of those beatdown awaiting to happen tonite on the Cubs.
