I am a bit behind in my studies for ball this year, at least where I want to be at this point. I've been murdering college basketball so I really don't want to divert too much time to one sport and lose the edge in another.
So, since it's ST, and I haven't covered as many bases as I have in the past, we are Wham bam jamma slammin $10 a unit plays to start
1. Rockies(+105) 1/1.05 units
2. Nationals(even) 1 unit
I think it's going to be a good year for baseball. Not talking wagering, I think the sport will be just fine. In years where the NFL took a nose dive and the NBA is decomposing before our eyes, Rob Manfred pushed away a bunch of proposed rule changes.

GL to everyone
You got that right. A couple teams look like shoo-ins but I won't place League Championship bets on them, just too much can be surprising and too many things can happen. Other divisions should have better than expected races and be competitive right down to the last week. We are the lucky recipients of this elixir of life that makes every day great for the next eight months. What a shame some people that have no life will spend their time trolling and bashing, instead of investing, profiting and cheering.
Now and then even a BLIND squirrel can find an acorn

I was going to have burger king for dinner..but instead I'm going to buy some steaks
For tomorrow...
3. Giants(-110) *1/.91
If you have Pinny or 5Dimes you can get -105 if you like it.
Adleman is a low strikeout pitcher and gets batters to pop out for outs. The Giants are a low strike out/high contact team when it comes to hitting. I think the ball will be in play more often than not. For however many innings the guy throws anyway...1,2 or 3.
Last year, Adleman made 1 spring training start. Pitched 1 inning, gave up 9 hits and 7 earned. Maybe the guy is a slow starter to get it going for himself?
Matt Moore is a vet, he's done spring training many times...he'll throw pitches. The Reds weren't the best LHP hitting team last year.

Knuckle ballers generally take longer to get in a groove. RA Dickey could leave some meat balls over the plate. The Tigers saw him plenty the last 2 seasons.
Zimmerman had a great spring last year, had a great season as well. The Braves never seen him.
So that covers the first 2/3 innings, playing craps after that. A risk at minus juice.
2. White Sox(+125) *1/1.25
Brett Anderson right out of the medical ward takes the bump. Giolito had some struggles last year as a rookie with the Nats. Don Cooper has worked with him to get his mechanics back. Remember the kid has a high ceiling/talent.
For this price I'll take a roll.
3. Royals(+110) *1/1.10
No problem fading Yavani Gallardo. I do like the Mariners as a team this year. See what happens in this game for the odds.

Nice write up , Tiger Fan here would agree that Zim had a good spring but can't agree that he had a good season last yr spent the entire 2nd half basically on the DL. His K per 9 inn was brutal and his arm was dead by the 1st of June. Dude has a lot to prove this yr.

-Ubaldo Jimenez last year(in day games) had a 9.10 ERA and 1.67 Whip, 1.43 K_BB ratio.
-Chad Green(in day games) had a 2.42 ERA and 1.03 Whip, 6.67 K_BB ratio.
Both these guys got rocked last spring. Green was a rookie though, give him a lil break for facing big league hitters for the first time. He also had some elbow problems last year.
Last year(post all-star game) the O's hit an AL worst .236, with a .713 OPS. This spring so far they are hitting .230/.665
Last year(post all-star game) the Yanks hit .253/.731
This spring so far they are hitting .258/.837
Zach Britton won't pitch. Betances and Chapman "may" pitch.
The O's new catcher Wellington Castillo is a pretty good offensive catcher. But there's metrics out there(which I read last year) that he's the worst framing catcher in the mlb. Not a huge deal, but ask the Diamondbacks how they did in the pitching department last year? Now I know, you can't blame the catcher for all of that, but he had a role in the overall pitching of that staff. Terrible bullpen/Greinke fell off the map. This guy has to learn the ENTIRE O's pitching staff yet.
With all that said, Jimenez and Green will only pitch a couple innings. Anything can happen in a spring training game, to bet -153 on a fav here is insane imo.

KC is hot this spring with the bats. But they are coming off a "blow your load" type of game where Gallardo served up BP.
Danny Duffy takes the bump. He's a lefty, and the Brew Crew's OPS not too shaby vs LHP. Also he had a bad September last year, I think he showed some fatigue. Those are the reason for only making it a half unit play.
Duffy's 1st and 3rd inning #'s are much better than Zach Davies. His "day" splits were impressive last year as well.
Slight bullpen edge to the Royals.
*Btw, I'm a big Zack Davies fan. Kid has a tremendous change-up.

I feel like Javier Bardem from No Country For Old Men, not in that way but picking MLB preseason is like calling it?? Heads or Tails = 26-25-2 = -$65 and GL

Getting pretty darn extensive with the write ups for so early in the spring, but what the heck, why not?
I had my eye on Duffy as well, but the Crew went 30-19 (61%) versus lefty starters last year and they have the line up to be a sneaky win, because they went 43-70 versus righties (38%) and are thought of as a crappy team. Duffy/Davies is a coin flip this early so no play for me but,

(1:05) Danny Duffy (L), Matt Strahm (L), Peter Moylan, Luke Farrell, Malcolm Culver, Kevin McCarthy, Yender Caramo vs.
Zach Davies, Hiram Burgos,Carlos Torres, Michael Blazek, Joba Chamberlain, Ryan Webb
Liking Matt Strahm to follow Duffy. I agree with key. They did hit lefties well lasdt year and can pile on hits and runs like they did against the Dogers the other day
