I have been a long time (on and off) sports bettor for years. I have had my ups and downs. I have been up thousands and down thousands. I've realized one of my biggest flaws has been that I don't know when to stop and I over-leverage my account, take on too much risk for my account size. I may win some but some how its never enough and just keep on betting just to try and finally win it 'big' some day. This mentality has lead to an empty account too many times for me.
This will be my last go at being a 'successful' sports bettor. I have a small $1000 account and I am limiting my self to $50 a day win or lose. That means if I win $50 I stop for the day and will be happy with it. If I lose $50 I stop for the day and will be happy about it ;). I normally let me emotions get to me and go on the chase to get my losses back. No more of that rookie bullsh!t. Just $50 a day either way, win or lose...and I'll see how my account looks 1 year from today.
I know how it goes that if people don't post bets ahead of time that people don't believe it or what ever, I honestly could give two sh!ts if you don't take my word for it. Anyway, today I took a 'live' bet in the 8th inning of the Giants game that they would win by 9 or more. The game ended and they did maintain their lead of 9 runs. So, I am up $50 profit on my first day and so as per my self applied rules, I am now done betting for the day.
I will start posting my bets when I enter the wager in my account starting tomorrow...
