This is something that continues to get under my skin, Managers taking out starting pitcher too early when they are in control in games and it's only the 5th, 6th and 7th innings and for some starters the 8th or even 9th!!!
A prime example is last night....in 4 games managers of teams winning and their starters were in control, removed their starting pitchers and the inning they made the changes they lost leads. In those games both Tampa Bay and the White Sox were winning 2-0 and the Reds were winning 2-1 and relievers started the innings and either lost it or it was tied in that inning (only the Sox came back to win, while in the 4th game, the Phillies for the second day in a row were winning 2-1 and Sandberg brought in a reliever with an out and 1 man on then the reliever abruptly gave up multiple runs in each (4 on Monday vs. the Mets and 7 last night @ the Angels) that put the games out of reach!
