Mets F5 +125(Gee / McCarthy)
Mets: No good
reason why the Mutts can’t get the sweep here. McCarthy is the last D-backs
pitcher that made a decent showing versus the Mutts, but that was last August
and both teams have headed in opposite directions since then. Maybe you don’t
think much of the Mets, but as long as they are playing 50/50 ball they
don’t think they are a bad team and will continue to give the effort they need
to win. The Diamondbacks are a bad team, with only one major
league qualified starter (and it ain’t McCarthy), coupled with a sporadic Jekyll
and Hyde offense. Maybe this is one of their better days, maybe not, but the
Mets could still win an offensive oriented game versus McCarthy. I suppose
someone will ask about the over, but I don’t like it, not with Mike DiMuro
behind the plate and the Diamondbacks offense being so unreliable.
This will be my only early play. Evening selections later.

Hey Key I just found out my sportsbook doesn't offer five innings plays anymore. Yesterday they were still avaible and now they aren't :/
the plays you posted, are for the first five innings, but how much trust do you haev that they will hit for the full game? In other words: do you think the mets will win the full game?

This si always a touchy point but most of the 5 inning winners do go on to win the full game. Some guys will back off because of a certain bullpen, but my feeling is if you lead after 5 the lesser bullpen may not hurt you, since they are staked to an advantage. If I had no other choice I would play the same picks for the full game, but it would be at least a little wiser to get a new book. BOL

Mariners-Rangers:
Head to head war and the obvious reason starting pitching is so darned
important in what we do and to baseball in general. No need to tell you that Hernandez-Darvish
is one heck of a match up, but are you aware of how pathetic both teams have
been against right handed starters? In 5 innings the Mariners are just 2-4 with
an oera of 2.15 and the Rangers counter that at 1-4-2 and 1.25. If Feldman-Darvish
can go 11 innings at 0-0 it is certainly possible for Hernandez-Darvish to do
the same, in fact even more likely. Don’t worry about nerves or someone blowing
up in this one, the great ones love that stuff.
Giants: Vogelsong
is not by any means my favorite guy to back, but as long as the public bets
every Dodger game like it was Kershaw or Greinke on the hill we are going to
see some very good prices on their opponents. Maholm is not only no Kershaw or
Greinke, he can’t even compare to Vogelsong. Combine that thinking with the
Giants 5 inning record versus lefty at 4-1 with a 9.15 oera and you have a huge
value advantage with the playable line at -114 and my line at -157.
