Just curious, sometimes I see people post "Pitcher A" will have a great game, thus I'll bet on him, etc. If a pitcher is the reason you're betting on a team, why not go first five instead? Don't see too many people betting 1st 5s in here.

I actually see a good amount of solid cappers in here play 1st 5. Starting pitcher and to fade some teams AWFUL bullpens. I personally prefer the standard 9 inning bet. No rhyme or reason, other then giving myself 9 innings to win the game. This seasons absurd amount of late inning collapses definitely makes those 1st 5 plays worth a look tho

I don't like first fives because I want the full game to win or lose, especially if it's a game I have given more weight to the starter and he comes out and has a dud game. Obviously you wouldn't want to take a first five against the Brewers because of their pen, but lets say today game between Gonzalez and Mark Rodgers had equal bullpens. We lose because Gonzalez is off a bit early and Rodgers comes out better than what his triple AAA numbers suggested we should have expected. To each his own, but I rather play the whole game or not play. Best of luck.

Well since you ask. For example with Bos/Nyy game

Doubront is 5-4 in F5 and 
Kuroda is 7-2-2 in F5

Guess who win ?

To correct :

Dubront 5-4 away in 5 inning with 2.33 run allowed avg
Kuroda is 7-2-2 home in 5 with 1.36 run allowed avg

And yet Dubront won in 5 today over Kuroda.

i like 5 inning bets on top quality starters. if you get a gem, you cash the RL & l love those bets, especially on home dogs with a good starter. 

when i play with average quality starters, i prefer the full game in case the average starter flubs it & maybe the bats get the W in the end.
