Indians trade Drew Pomeranz, Alex White and Matt McBride.
So they get to keep Kipnis and Chisenhall.

Jimenez earns $2.8MM this year and $4.2MM in 2012. His contract includes a $5.75MM club option ($1MM buyout) for 2013 and an $8MM club option for 2014 ($1MM buyout), however that 2014 option is voided with the trade.

Pomeranz and White are really good returns for the Rockies...but if they got Kipnis or Chisenhall instead of McBride...that would have been an incredible haul for the Rox.
I still think the Rox win this trade, personally. I think Ubaldo is overrated. He should pitch well in the Central...but I just don't think he'll be "the answer"...which is the whole reason for this trade is to put them over the top.
I'm just glad he's been traded so the Yankee rumors stop.

Of course. Gotta take it all with a grain of salt as everything is "what if". But, if you say "what if" with prospects and you get it...than it's a sweet deal for the Rox.
White was pretty good before he got hurt...now going to the NL (always a better place to start ala Ian Kennedy and Daniel Hudson)...we'll see.
And, if you were interested, Zach Jackson and Rob Bryson were in the deal for Sabathia. Jackson was horrible in short stints with the Indians and, well, just check out these numbers in the minors.. Bryson, however, has been a solid reliever in the minors if numbers tell the whole story.

It's clearly a mixup. He's already been scratched. He can't technically start for them because the Indians now have his rights.

Spark, Michael Brantley was "the player to be named later" in that deal.

Good clarification. Hope he doesn't get hurt.

Its a great deal for the Indians. Who gives a flying shit about prospects who have never produced in their life at the major league level. You get a ACE who has shown he can be in the discussion as one of the best at his position in the league. People amaze me who want to hang onto these young guys when given the chance at a proven player.
Were the Indians in this same position a few years back? Had this pitcher i think some may have heard of CC Sabathia. Traded him for something called a Matt Laporta. Top flight cant miss prospect. Guy is DOG SHIT!
