I've been asked what thought process I use when creating a lean on MLB games, so I'm going to type out what I usually write down in regards to a game to create an early lean rather than simply posting the lean.
Chicago Cubs VS Los Angeles Dodgers The Dodgers blasted the Cubs yesterday afternoon, but I don't use game over game results in order to view a game for the following day (unless it's a long winning/losing streak). The Dodgers have been playing well lately, so keep that in mind; the Cubs have been all right. In terms of pitching, Lilly has a better WHIP and ERA over Dempster. The Dodgers, on the road, hit Dempster (R) better than the Cubs, at home, hit Lilly (L). The home W/L % for the Cubs at home is only slightly better than the road W/L % for the Dodgers, so it's a non-factor.
It seems like the Dodgers should be favored today: they are playing well, they have a better pitcher on the mound, and they hit righties better than the Cubs hit lefties.
The Cubs are favored.
Early Lean: Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers are ranked 11th in RPI VS the Cubs being ranked 21st in RPI. The Dodgers are currently a better overall team than the Cubs based entirely on the numbers and not on subjectivity.

I forgot to mention:

Dempter has the much better xFIP, which is a lot more meaningful than ERA or WHIP. With any south wind at Wrigley I sure don't want to be backing an extreme fly ball pitcher like Lilly.

Dempster has absolutely OWNED the Dodgers throughout his career. His last outing he was shelled.
Last week, not many were in a hurry to back Lilly against SF. He pitched lights out.
Dodgers have been winning. Cubs have been inconsistant and bettors may be frustrated.
Pena is sittin' the pine. The lineup for the Cubs is there today... Marlon Byrd owns Ted Lilly. Dempster should have a quality start today, which should be enough.
Easy one: Cubs ML and RL

Exacly what Im sayin'. Who wants to back this team today? They got their shit kicked in yesterday. Quade IS a fuckin numbnut. I personally can't stand the guy and do NOT like his decision making either.
What I do like is Starlin Castro at the top, Baker behind Ramirez and Alfonso in the 7 hole. Along with the pieces in between.
I think the lined opened up at basically a pick 'em. IMO, line movement is showin' you which way to go here. Either way whatever you decide good luck the rest of the day...but not if you take the Dodgers

Doesnt that concern you at all , since you say the dodgers should be favored and vegas makes the cubs favored and not just a slight favor at that, seems as if they're calling for blue town money? Just posing the question for you.

Yes! That's why it's a lean and not a final play yet. I need to justify why the Cubs are favored.
