I've been asked what thought process I use when creating a lean on MLB games, so I'm going to type out what I usually write down in regards to a game to create an early lean rather than simply posting the lean.
Chicago Cubs VS Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers blasted the Cubs yesterday afternoon, but I don't use game over game results in order to view a game for the following day (unless it's a long winning/losing streak). The Dodgers have been playing well lately, so keep that in mind; the Cubs have been all right. In terms of pitching, Lilly has a better WHIP and ERA over Dempster. The Dodgers, on the road, hit Dempster (R) better than the Cubs, at home, hit Lilly (L). The home W/L % for the Cubs at home is only slightly better than the road W/L % for the Dodgers, so it's a non-factor.
It seems like the Dodgers should be favored today: they are playing well, they have a better pitcher on the mound, and they hit righties better than the Cubs hit lefties.
The Cubs are favored.
