SUNRISE, Fla. - The Florida Panthers and BB&T Center today announced their preparations for Hurricane Irma.
During the storm, BB&T Center will serve as an emergency vehicle staging site for various public service entities, as well as a tactical operation site for Florida Power and Light. Post storm, BB&T Center has been identified as a Broward County Logistical Staging Area. BB&T Center stands willing and able to support any needs determined by the City of Sunrise and Broward County.

"We are here and ready to support our Florida family, Broward County and the City of Sunrise as the community prepares for Irma's possible landfall," said Florida Panthers Owner Vincent J. Viola. "Service to the community and family are in the DNA of our organization."
BB&T Center has established a hotline at 954-835-8911. Individuals are encouraged to call the hotline for the most up to date information regarding BB&T Center.
The club has officially cancelled its player involvement in the four-team Prospect Tournament initially scheduled for Sept. 9-12 in Estero, Fla.
The Florida Panthers offices and BB&T Center Box Office will be closed on Thursday, Sept. 7 in the afternoon until further notice for the safety of our staff and fans.
"We encourage our fans, staff and members of our community to prepare wisely and stay safe throughout the duration of this storm," said Florida Panthers President & CEO Matthew Caldwell. "Our strength as a community will guide us the through the difficult times ahead."

fade them anyhow. Vinny Viola wrecked his team last season allowing "Elmer Fudd" Rowe to fire Cats coach Gerard Gallant last season and taking over himself. Viola has since re-replaced Rowe with former GM Dale Tallon  and a new coach BUT they also lost Reilly Smith and Jonathan Marchessault in the expansion draft. they still have a good "core' of young forwards BUT I think the D&G is gonna STINK yet AGAIN

I think their 2017-18 "to make the playoffs" NO -260 is probably a BET

btw, the Las Vegas  "Golden Shower Nightmares" THANK Viola for not only
Smith and Marchessault but also coach Gerard Gallant too. he took the Cats from bottom feeder to just missing the playoffs to WINNING the Atlantic Division in just three years while in Florida

2.6 million to win 1 million is a gift for high rollers.
