I had the proud old champions in a must-win game 3, and the guts and glory of years past were revisited, jonny b. quick holding fast after that ugly early breakdown resulted in a joe thornton "pass" finding its way into the basket for an early sharks edge...
with more than a trace of melancholy tho, I have to say I suspect that 2-1 OT win was the final hurrah, and the hammerheads deliver the final blow 2nite...
we can go thru a million reasons but I think the result boils down to a couple of key factors...first and foremost, the kings are just too thin on the backline, the manpower shortage placing overwhelming pressure on their D...doughty (who should win the Norris in a heartbeat) is logging 30+ minutes of ice, muzzin not far behind, and with the sharks' speed and forechecking ability that kind of wearying workload (and the resulting added pressure on quick to be david copperfield every night) simply cannot be sustained...
secondly, and maybe more importantly, I think the sharks cleared a major psychological hurdle in their game 4 win...(1) they held fast against the inevitable late kings' push where previous editions of the teal might have tumbled, and (2) they actually won a freakin game in their own barn where all year long they've mysteriously been vulnerable if not vexed...
so now they're back on the highway where they've found their most consistent success...oh don't get me wrong, naturally it won't be easy...but it'll get done
I think 2nite they deliver the coup de grace to their fierce rivals...
(side-note: a salute and huzzah to vinny lecavalier, a terrific pro for so many years, who's riding into the sunset...part of me deep down hopes vinny gets the winner 2nite enabling him and his mates to carry on the fight for another day)...
sorry...reality check.. I can't make coin being sentimental...

spot on...the Sharks were in the Kings zone all night, those 2 Kings goals were floaters and the Sharks also stopped easy rushes...every empire falls...Voynov, Regher, Greene all needed...
