I personally think this guy is a gem of a defenceman who will handle the NHL game without issue. I forgot Hexy snuck this move in behind the smoke screen of the new coach signing back in late May. I'm really looking forward to seeing this guy man the blue line in Philly this season.

You just never know till they start in the NHL, but he sure does have the makings of a real good player. But he does have a good number of miles on him already.

Yup for sure seeing is believing but where he really got my attention was watching him at the Olympics and the last two world championships. In all three tournaments he was head and shoulders better than the Russian defencemen that were brought in from the NHL. Now will that translate into the NHL? As you say remains to be seen but watching him compete extremely well amongst and against NHL talent in those tournaments has me thinking very positively. The miles don't matter at the moment, 32 for a defenceman is not a big deal as you know and it's only a one season contract. I think it's a good gamble. With the great crop of young defencemen the Flyers have coming up if this guy can pan out ok for two or three seasons it would be pure gravy. Supposedly he is a workout enthusiast with great conditioning so his age should be no issue for a little while.
The lion and the tiger may be more powerful, but the wolf doesn't perform in the circus.

Rink this is news from back in the end of May at the same time they signed their new coach as I mentioned, so I would not imagine there would be anything on twitter about now

OK, fair enough. sounds like a solid add to the Flyers lineup
