#1 Posted: 1/16/2013 11:36:43 AM Hello Home Slices
MAY WE ALL LIVE IN FANTASTIC HEALTH
NO this is not just a HOMER Investment ...
Love the additions to the Sabres Lineup ....
Toughness was missing ...
Steve Ott + BIG John Scott are just what the DR. ordered .
Could see nice Bounce Back years for Christian Ehrhoff , Ville Leino
Lindy Ruff will NOT be able to play Ryan Miller's legs off this season with only 48 Games and the Future Jonas Enroth waiting in the Wings
BIG Things are expected for youngsters Tyler Ennis, Marcus Foligno and Cody Hodgson ...
Maybe 1st rounder Mikhail Grigorenko cracks the line up???
Ryan Miller should not be as Pu$$y Whipped 2+ years into his Marriage

#2 Posted: 1/16/2013 11:39:41 AM Im not too sure about the Sabres,They had a rough time last year and I dont think Ruff is the right man for the team.
Its 50/50 for me if they make the playoffs.
Another one of those teams where the first week might tell you alot about their prospects for the rest of the season |

I feel Ruff is one of the best coaches in the League ... if the Sabres ever fire him he will be picked up in Mins ... he could be coaching Team Canada next time around !!!
finally have some toughness ... Nice depth on defense .....
should make a nice run
opening schedule
Sunday vs Flyers Monday at Leafs Thursday at Canes Friday vs Canes Sunday at Washington Tuesday vs Leafs Thursday at Bruins Saturday at habs Sunday vs panthers |

#7 Posted: 1/16/2013 3:28:47 PM Don't mind this pick with the value they are getting. They are 28-1 to win the cup on my books. However, don't get too excited about Steve Ott or John Scott. Scott is more of a liability than a benefit to a team. He is terrible on his skates and won't see more than 25 games this year. (he has only played more than half a season once in his career). If this team is going to do anything it's going to be because of Ryan Miller. He needs to play like Ryan Miller of 2 years ago. Ehrhoff is a bit over rated as well. We had him in Vancouver and yea he can put up points on the PP, but he is not the most sound player defensively. Leino is overrated as well, he is a 3rd, maybe 2nd line player at best. He had one great playoffs with Philly then Buffalo jumped on him and gave him way to much money. Having said all that, Ennis is a stud forward and can't wait to see what he will do this year. Hodgson has some great on ice vision and play making ability, as well as good hands and a good shot, let me assure you, Vancouver fans are sad that he was traded.
If Buffalo does well in the playoffs it's going to be due to Ryan Miller putting up some elite goaltending, and the young guns really stepping up.
In closing, that's a risk i'm willing to take at 28-1, i'll probably sprinkle a little amount, maybe $20-$30 on it just to have a time ;)

#8 Posted: 1/16/2013 6:03:26 PM Good luck with your play. But IMO the sabers play in to tough of a conference to have any realistic chance of winning it, there are at least 5 -7 teams that are (or should be) better than Buffalo. As stated above, I would not even bet that the Sabers made the playoffs ??
However as the Kings proved last year, Anything can happen. But I would look for value elsewhere, but Hey, it is YOUR Money.
Again, Much luck with your wager.

#9 Posted: 1/16/2013 7:40:55 PM I like this pick...
Ennis and Hodgson are only going to get better...Vanek and Miller should have strong "rebound" seasons (even though they didn't really have any BAD seasons lately!)
I really think the Sabres missed the playoffs last season only due to their horrific amount of injuries (is that just luck or is it just a symptom of being too small overall...time will tell)

Just need John Scott to play a physical role vs The Division foes on certain nights ( Bruins)....
Ott should be on the 3rd line ...
Pominville,Stafford, and Vanek could have the best years of their careers ....
Miller should benefit from the shortened season .. Ruff tends to play him way too much .... Enroth is more than a capable backup ...
SURE I understand why the Bruins are the Fav to win the Division , but Rask could slip up in the starters role ....Do think Seguin is gonna be a great one
Go ahead and sprinkle some coin down .... why NOT >????
Best of Luck Brother |
