I'm surprised there hasn't been too much discussion of this so far, at least not that I've seen in active threads today.
Hack a Howard worked very well on the road for the Clips, averaging just over 30% from the line in those 3 road games.
Will Steve Kerr do the same thing? Or is he too pure of a basketball lover to stoop to that level.
If they hack Howard this total flies over 219 to the 230's or 240's IMO. I don't think they can afford to pull him from the game like they did in game 7 because he has much more value to the rockets in a game where DJ isn't there to counteract his presence in the post.
If they hack him though, the under could be way live.
Has anyone read anything about this for tonights game???

First of, it depends wether or not the game is close and wether or not Houston has the lead (laugh all you want).
Second, I do not think it's Kerr's character but you can never know. He didn't foul Tony Allen when Allen destroyed GSW's offense for 2 games.
Plus, another angle that I've seen that does not relate to Kerr's decisions is that coaches that started hacking when they were rolling and increasing the lead they already created before (which means they were not behind at the point they started hacking) were mistaking as this act ruined their momentum and influenced badly on their deficit.

I agree the momentum thing is a major issue, and I guess if you think you're better you may just play it out. BUT, that plays both ways because it completely takes the ball out of Harden's hands. And I think it also is part of the reason he was sub-par in games 1 and 6.
Plus if Howard will really continue to shoot 33% at the line, and you average over 1 pt per possession (which GS easily should), it's a statistical fact that it would be very much in your best interest to continue fouling him unless:
1. He starts hitting a higher percent 2. It is proven that your offense starts to fall out of rhythm 3. You run out of bench players to use to foul, or your bench is bad enough having even 1 non-offense player on the floor starts to create poor possessions.

the hack a howard or anyone thing no one gets y it dont work is cuz it puts ur team into the penalty early in quarter so any tick or tack foul clock stops and u give up pts at the line thus the main reason y the clipps records was like 19-2 or sumthing like that wen jordan shot so many ft's...howard is huge factor in this series bogut is not athletic enough draymond did well against gasol wouldnt doubt draymond guards howard at some point...kerr seems to much of a goody-good to do this hack a howard method imo but could b wrong guess we will see.hope the magic get #1

I could be wrong, but if I remember correctly they were starting it about half way through the second quarter because at that point they could fools their team foul trouble, and get an extra 5-10 possessions in the first half.
