A decent Sunday with GS eating the Lakers alive, 3-1 on the night (1-0 SW, 2-1 PP) for just less than a 5 unit gain. Tonight on this very "M" tacular Monday. Going with Memphis and the Mavericks, both with situational advantages as well as an advantage in overall talent (imo). As always gents, wishing you all the best of luck in your wagers tonight. Peace out - - - MAK
MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES - 4.0 (-114) - - - Big situational advantage here, Rockets coming off an ugly back to back win in OKC playing 3 in 4 nights and a Griz team that has been getting an off day of rest for their past 3 games and 2 days of rest prior to that. Rockets played their "big three" Howard, Harden and Ariza havy minutes last night and without them at full throttle tonight I really do not think Houston stands much of a chance at all. Tony Allen has caused fits for Harden historically and unless Harden takes the ball to the hole with reckless abandon tonight, he is not going to score enough for the Rockets to prevail and cover this spread. The Rockets had some terrible records last night, not since 2003 has a team shot below 30% and won a game, they also broke a few others but they are too ugly to state here. If you take the Minny game off the books for a 2nd (Tims are one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA), the Rockets have scored an avg of 80 points in 3 of their last 4 game and 2 of them were not against defensive powerhouses (GS & PHI). The Rockets are struggling but because of their good fortune in scheduling and 2 and 5 stars, they have managed to stay at the top of the conference in standings. But tonight they face a Griz squad that is right there with them atop of the Western Conference at 9-1. Tonight the number 1 defensive team in the NBA proves they are better in every facet of the game, one is a contender in the West, and one is just a pretender. I'll take Griz by two possessions any day over an overrated Rockets squad with no depth.

DALLAS MAVERICKS - 3.5 (-110) - - - Another situational play here. Charlotte coming off a western road trip down a few key rotation players. Gary Neal will miss the game as well as MKG. Henderson will start instead of Hairston tonight. henderson did not fare well in his last start though I see him doing well tonight. But it will be Chandler Parsons looking to get back on track tonight with a 20+ point performance. Al Jefferson has the best low-block moves in the NBA, not even close how good he is, but he will face a very capable defender in Tyson Chandler who is playing as he did for the Mavs when they won the championship. Dirk Nowitzki will start on Marvin, but as soon as Dirk owns him, look for Cody Zeller to get most of the time guarding Dirk, he may be dreaming about him tonight. Ellis and Nelson will battle with Kemba and Lance, I suspect the Hornets guards to get the upper hand this time. The bench for the Mavs will have to outplay Charlotte's bench for them to get the win and cover tonight, and I suspect they get it done. Devin, J.J, Aminu and Wright all had excellent home stands for the Mavs and will look to duplicate their efforts in North Carolina tonight. The Mavs will play 7 of their next 10 games on the road starting tonight, and 8 of their next 10 against Eastern Conference opponents. Something tells me the Mavs will show the NBA and their division that they are also serious contenders in their conference after a commanding 10 game stretch. Mavs roll and cover in front of his airness.
